I had a terrible experience with getting my engagement ring resized and having it soldered to my wedding band. My engagement and wedding band both fit perfectly individually but because of the way it is set when they are together it didn't fit how I wanted it and it was a bit too tight. No worries, this is why jewelers exist. Normally I go to lumina gem to have my jewelry sized as they are super quick and do an exceptional job. However, I bought my wedding band from reeds and purchased the extra warranty as we spend a lot of money at the reeds in Independence Mall. Because this location has the jeweler on staff I brought it here so I can make sure that it is not mailed anywhere as I didn't want to risk my most important piece of jewelry. When I dropped it off I was not quoted a price but was told I would be charged for the sizing and the soldering which I thought was weird cause I assumed that soldering it would be included in the additional warranty but I trusted them so I didn't question it. The woman I spoke to said it would take about 10 days (lumina gem did it in like 3 hours when I had something sized before) After 10 days I called them and Nancy is who answered the phone and she was INCREDIBLY rude. When I called I asked when it would be ready she immediately snaps DO YOU HAVE THE SLIP. I left the receipt in the car and didn't have it on me at the moment which i told her. She then mentions the slip 5 more times and I, again, told her it was not on me. She then tells me that the slip says sept 8th (two weeks after I dropped it off) and says that it will not be ready until then. She was super rude and dealing with her was incredibly unpleasant. I called back on the 7th to see if it would be ready on the 8th and had an AMAZING experience speaking with Zach. He was super nice, so funny and incredibly helpful. When I called to ask when it would be ready he said the 9th (panic ensued) and then realized that when Nancy originally accepted it she put that one would be ready on the 8th and the other on the 9th. To be clear; they are to be soldered together so it is physically impossible to pick them up separately. Zach took care of it and said it would be ready on the 8th. They call me on the 8th at 3pm to ask me what needs to be done to the ring. At this point I was so frustrated as I had already told them what needed to be done when it was dropped off in great detail. I called back and spoke to Desiree who was wonderful and even she was flabbergasted as to what was going on. The experience was looking up. She informed me that it would be ready at 2pm on the 9th. I go in at around 230 to pick up the ring and the woman who I spoke to was so rude. I told her I was here to pick up a ring and she said 'Well, did we call you??" I said no I was told it would be ready to pick up today at two. She rolled her eyes and then went to check on my ring which was miraculously ready. She said maybe 5 words to me and then I took my ring and left. The ONLY good things that happened were Desiree fixing the price and being a wonderful human and Zach doing what he could and being equally as amazing. Everything else was terrible. I will not be bringing anything back to this location to get adjusted and will only be going to the reeds at the mall. Thank you to Zach and Desiree for understanding the frustrations and doing everything you could to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, due to everyone else's action I would rather...
Read moreSo I could write an entire novel on this one, because of how genuine Eleana was. I don’t know who is excited to spend $13k unexpectedly, but my wife and I left this store super happy with the Rolex we purchased. Before I share my experience at this location, I want to give an idea as to how my Rolex journey has been before shopping at this Reed’s jewelers location.
I’m just going to be completely honest and say that before visiting this location, buying a Rolex in person was one of the worst experiences of my lifetime… It was so difficult at authorized dealers, because folks were so snobby and rude to me and my wife.
I went to multiple different places in the last few years ready and willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars, but no one at the Rolex ADs took me or my wife seriously.
Which made me turn to the gray market, where things are readily available at a premium unfortunately.
I saw that Reed’s jewelers is a Rolex Authorized Retailer not a dealer, which is a plus for us! So I brought in a Rolex that I purchased on the gray market for someone to look at it, or at least talk about it for a moment… As usual, there were plenty of exhibition units the ones that are not available to purchase.
But, there were three units that were available, none of them exactly what we’re looking for, which led us to consulting with Eleana.
She took a look at the watch that I brought in, and politely took a link out of it for my wife. As I was looking around at some of the merchandise that Reed’s jewelers had on display and there was a a specific piece that caught my eye.
Quickly I confirmed this specific Rolex was available to purchase and to my surprise it was.
She showed it to my wife, let her try it on, took a look at it. I asked Eleana how long the purchase process would take and if this Rolex was available to purchase right now. Happily she said yes, it would only take about 10 minutes to complete the transaction and register the new watch for your wife.
So I say, all of this to say, she treated us like human beings, for the first time in this three-year adventure of trying to find the perfect watches that we intend on passing down through our family for generations.
It was very refreshing, and exciting to be treated with respect and empathy… It was an absolute terrific experience, I just can’t even begin to put it in words.
If anyone in the area within a couple hundred miles is looking for the Rolex watch of your dreams please stop by here. Do yourself a favor before you go online at Chrono24 and take a look at what Reed’s jewelers has to offer at this location. Make sure you...
Read moreSo happy with my engagement ring from Reeds. My “new” fiancé said Jo Beth was AMAZING to work with. I wish she was there when I just took it in to get resized. The lady who helped me, Jessica was not welcoming at all. Not even a congratulations lol. I left so stressed out about having to leave my ring there. I don’t have the best luck track record and the experience she just gave me left me really nervous. Just off the bat, it would be helpful if when you tell people they need to sign for the pick up receipt you should let the customer know what day and time, they shouldn’t have to ask as these people (like me) were probably excited about getting this and want it back sooner than later. I also would have loved a warning that on the receipt the value of the ring was on there. I DID NOT WANT TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION. Sticking it in an envelope or something to keep that information concealed would have been wonderful. Completely ruined the excitement of getting engaged as now I feel guilt he spent so much. My fiancé was also told it could be done same day but i was told it would have to be shipped out for two weeks and then when I just left it they said Thursday. Not a big deal, just want to make sure everyone is on the same page. I hope Jo Beth will be there when I pick up the ring so my view can change. I heard she is amazing to work with and I’d like to thank her for helping my boyfriend pick out the ring.
Update: Jessica unfortunately is the one who helped me pick up the ring even though I tried to avoid her. She is going to ruin the Reeds Jeweler’s name with how unwelcoming and rude she is. Removing an additional star.
4 months later update: no one acknowledged this review but when I posted on Yelp I finally had someone reach out to me. Supposed to be going on on Thursday to have a proper resizing. I had no idea that handing over a big thing of sizers and having the customer figure it out themselves wasn’t the “proper” way. Hopefully Jessica won’t be there to ruin my 3rd experience with Reeds. We would have loved to use them for our wedding bands but after the previous experience I had knocked them completely off the list. Will see how this experience goes...
