Completely unsatisfied with my experience at this location due to selection, service, and reliability.
I originally came to this location in September to by a suit, a few pants, and additional nicer clothing items. They didn't have the pants I needed to match the suit jacket I was interested in and had to order it in; disappointing but understandable at least. The guys helping me wouldnt let me have the suit jacket or other pants altered at that time; they wouldnt accept them until the other pants also arrived so that all clothes could be altered at the same time. Suit Pants arrived in the mail to my home about 12 days later, two days after initial estimates said it would and I returned to the shop on 6 October to finish the sizing and drop clothes off for alterations.
I dropped off the suit and two additional pants for alterations and was told they won't be ready until 22 October. This was disappointing since they wouldnt be ready for an event i had on 18 October and I really wish I was allowed to drop off the other items in September because at least some of the clothes would've been ready for my event.
Today was the first day since I've been back from travelling for the previous event and I went to pick up the clothes. This is the only remaining day I had to get my clothes situated before traveling for a wedding next week; this wedding was the whole reason for getting a suit starting back in september.
The suit is still not ready and back from alterations. The store had some issue with a tailor that delayed things. But I have no suit, no pants, no recourse. I'm blown away that more than 45 days still wasnt enough time to get a suit. They never texted or emailed or attempted to contact me to notify me about the delay. My phone number is on my ticket and my inbox is full of Jos. A Bank spam emails; but no one thought to notify me weeks ago of the delay so I could get clothes from a more reputable or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe used Jos A Bank to rent our groomsmen suits for our wedding and had an absolutely terrible experience. We held our wedding in Asheville NC. We all went in to get fitted for our suits in mid April and the fitting went fine. When it was time to come pick up the suits and try them on that's when everything went south. They told us we could not pick up our suits until 3 or 4 days before the wedding and that if anything was wrong with the suits when we picked them up they could adjust them and then have them overnighted back to the store. Turns out this was not the case. My nephews pants were cut about 3 inches too short and we ended up having to reorder a new pair of pants for him, which took 48 hours and showed up the night before the wedding so we had no time to see if there were correct before the wedding and this isn't even the worst part. One of my groomsmen's jacket was ordered way too small so we needed to go in and get his jacket reordered. When we went in on the Wednesday before the wedding they told us the jacket was reordered and would be there that Thursday. So we go in on Thursday to see if the jacket was there and turns out that the jacket was not even reordered. By this time we are freaking out because the wedding is so close and the people at the desk assured us that the jacket would be reordered and be there by Friday morning in time for the wedding. We call in Friday morning to see if everything is there and the associate tells us again that the jacket was never put in for reorder and that someone dropped the ball on their end. My groomsmen was forced to wear the smaller jacket during our wedding because they failed to reorder the jacket. This was by far the worst experience I have had at a store and will not be going back. If you are looking at this place for renting/buying groomsmen suits please be aware and approach...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had a terrible shopping experience at this store. The saleman(or that's what I think he was) was rude and condescending. We were there to purchase a suit for a funeral. He approached us, wearing jeans and a ugly Hawaiian looking shirt. He hadn't shaved in weeks. He honestly looked homeless. Anyway, he showed us some suits in the color we preferred. When my wife started looking at a specific jacket, he said " those are our $800 suits, you don't want that." He was implying that we couldn't afford it. I made sure to tell him that money wasn't an issue. So we reluctantly bought a suit from him. During checkout, he didn't speak. When we were done I said "thank you". His reply was "ok, who is next?" Shouldn't he be the one saying thank you to me for just spending $600 in the store? So my advice, avoid the Wilmington Jos A Banks, or at least the gray headed looking bum that works there. He's a pathetic sight, and an even worse salesman. We bought ONLY because we had a funeral to attend. We will shop elsewhere in the future. Oh and by the way, we could indeed afford your $800 suits, several of them if we cared to, if we had a salesman with at least minimal people skills. I'm glad that you talked us out of it, Mr. Homeless looking salesman. Advice: if you're going to sell men's suits for a living, at least wear one yourself.
07/27/2024 - Follow up on my review. I received a phone call from the store manager. I believe he was attempting to apologize, but it just didn't work. I told him that we had just lost our daughter and I was shopping for a suit for her funeral. He offered no condolences at all, and his apology was insincere. This store obviously cares only about the almighty dollar, of which they got almost $600 from me. My advice is the same, avoid this store if you want a pleasant, appreciative...
