Setting the bar My wife and I came here expecting high prices and a long wait time to resize her wedding ring from an 8.5 to a 7. Got there today a bit early and Reed greeted us and had a brief conversation about what we were looking to do. We were quoted a price that was over 700 cheaper then Reeds.Hopes high we just wanted it sized right we gave them the ring and hoped within a few weeks it would be correct. I’m not lying when I say less then 2 hours later they left a text saying our repair was completed. We jump in Jeep and head down to the store. To our complete amazement the ring seriously looked brand new. The ring had a thin shank so we had them build it up a bit. The smile on my wife’s face melted my heart and I new coming here was the not only the right choice but a lifelong choice. If they are able to help us out that quick and with that quality then I need to let everyone know. The professionalism from Reed got us in the door. Sara the sales lady was amazing to work with and you can see they love their customers. I strongly encourage anybody reading this review to at least start here with any repair, custom piece or something special they are looking for. I feel terrible for not catching the jewelers name with tattoos that worked on our ring but this guy is amazing and clearly you have set the bar and created a customer for life. My husband and I went to Lumina Gem looking for a 25th anniversary ring. We wanted something that would compliment but not replace the first ring. After looking at many many rings online and in stores, we decided we would try designing a ring. My husband was excited because it gave him a chance to really create something with me that represented such a special time in our marriage. The toughest thing for us was just thinking of the type of ring we wanted, but once we figured that out the rest was pleasantly easy. I ended up finding 2 different ring designs that I liked but wanted to combine them. Elliott was phenomenal in his interpretation of what we envisioned. He was patient and very responsive during the creation time. He also created a 3D version so that I could actually try on for size, that was a really neat thing too. I was able to choose my stones which were a mix of white and teal diamonds. The combination was just beautiful. It actually looked very grand, I like to think of it as my 'Princess' ring, though I am now in my 50s. It is the most georgeous ring I have ever seen. My husband and I had the most amazing experience with LuminaGem prior to our engagement and leading up to our wedding day! When we knew we were close to getting engaged back in January 2023, my now husband and I wanted to look at engagement rings together but were so clueless about where to start. We actually began our search at a commercial jewelry store in town, which was such a bad experience and left us wondering what the heck we were doing! We visited LuminaGem shortly afterwards and they immediately put us at ease by explaining how to choose diamonds (the four Cs!) and letting me try on a variety of mix and match ring styles. My husband chose my engagement ring after learning about which ones I liked, and LuminaGem was so amazing with him throughout that process and had such a quick turnaround time! After our engagement, they were also excellent about helping us choose our wedding bands. LuminaGem has to be the best jewelry store in Wilmington, if not all of North Carolina.
