Pinji's Cafe — Restaurant in Wilmington

Used to be my go to place and all time fave. Bad experiences the last three times and today I ordered dine-in and was served cold coffee. After waiting 35 minutes I inquired as to the status of the order. I met with blank stares from the staff. I offered them to cancel the order if it hadn't been prepared as I needed to leave. The hostess came back to the counter with a soggy cold bag telling me it was for takeout. She handed me the bag and I was dismissed. I ate the food that was soggy and cold. No one checked to see if I was OK. This after I left a $5 tip (not sure what that was for). It's a shame. We're encouraged to patronize small business but quite honestly it's all gone downhill. This place is a mess. The young African-American girl running the front I feels so bad for. The kitchen staff was disrespectful to her when she was trying to do her job. Kitchen staff was on the their phone while my order wasn't up to par. The girl at front asked would I like it remade. Informed her no thanks because the kitchen staff was unprofessional and where on their phone and talking among themselves although it was rather busy. She apologized for issue. I needed a place for a quick lunch and I was looking for something fresh. I found street parking a few doors away. This sandwich shop is in an adorable location with outdoor seating. I was greeted and ordered the avocado toast, Panini. It was very fresh and I liked that both sides of the bread had an oil pesto oregano sauce on it, I skipped the tomato. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There’s bubble tea, but I usually skip it because of the sugar content. The interior could use a face lift. It looks worn but overall a...
