We've had amazing meats, prepared foods, hot sauces etc.... from this place and love what they do, and how they do it. Everyone is so patient and helpful, I wish they could give lessons in customer service! We had an issue with our Prime Rib a while ago and instead of writing a mediocre or bad review I decided to call them and let them know that I felt they had dropped the ball on this particular purchase. Nothing egregious, just not up to their usual perfection. I spoke with a gentleman named Steve Mercier who couldn't have been more genuinely apologetic for our mishap. He actually seemed like my happiness was important to him and he wanted to not only keep me as a customer but keep me happy and eager to come back and spend my hard earned money. Steve offered me a very generous solution and I accepted. The next thing we ate from them was a beautiful Rib Eye steak. The marbling was there, just enough fat was left on the cap to keep the flavor from disappearing and once cooked to 125 degrees, it was a piece of art. Thank you Steve. You not only solved my problem, but you went well beyond my expectations and not only did you retain my business but I have a feeling some of the folks I've shared this with will become new customers as well. Nice job sir, hopefully the big boss is proud to have you on his team. I'm sure he is. All the best for a safe, sound and fun 2024. Michael...
Read moreThe best opportunity any business has to create happy, loyal, engaged customers is (unsurprisingly) when a business is confronted with a disappointed or upset customer. If that business manages to not only solve the problem (which is simply the bottom line) but delight the customer in the process, then customers feel "heard" , "considered" and "cared about." Further, just we tell other people when we have a bad experience, the "recovered customer" tends to evangelise about the business. The management and team at the Wilmington Butcher's Market are to be congratulated on turning me around as described above. I notified Mike, the GM, of issues I'd experienced with service and quality. Mike replied promptly, despite being very busy with another store opening, and took immediate ownership of my problem, following through until it was fully resolved. Further, I was made to feel that what I had experienced was very outside the norm for customers using this business. Their MANY 5 star reviews would also attest to this. I can highly recommend "Butcher's Market" for quality, variety and outstanding service. This is a business actively trying to win you over and give you reason to be more than happy with your purchase and purchase experience. That is so rare these days when many (most?) businesses simply take us for granted and treat us like we don't matter. Thank you...
Read moreWhen you have a price point or $50 per pound for prime filets I expect to purchase high quality prime filets. I came here after a recommendation and was severely disappointed with prime filets that barely resembled lower choice filets for that price.
I also purchased two prime bone-in ribeyes. While they looked much better then the filets (more like upper choice) the butchers cut was poor. The cap was extremely large on the bottom and just added weight to more overpriced steaks.
Hard to recommend this place after spending $200+ dollars for 6 prime steaks that were not even close to prime.
UPDATE: Went back to follow up on Derek’s response, and was blown away by the customer service received. The GM went above and beyond to take care of us and replace the prior steaks with steaks of the highest quality. You can tell they do really care about the quality not only of the products sold but also of the way in which customers are treated. Updating this review to 5 stars was a no brainer. We’ll definitely be visiting again whenever we need steaks, and will recommend the butcher’s...
