This review is for event rental of the large hall, not for a standard restaurant visit.
I rented the front event space with bar a few years ago to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Everything went perfectly at that time so I didn't hesitate to consider Timothy's again when planning a celebration of life event for my cousin.
Brandon (the Manager) was really helpful whenever he responded to emails. Rachel wasn't as good at responding fully (answering all questions, providing requested items, etc.)
The night before the event Rachel called to inform me they didn't get the linens we had requested but fortunately they had an alternate color that could work with our color scheme.
Unfortunately, after confirming several times that we would be let into the venue at 10:00 A.M. to begin setup of our event that started at 11:00 A.M. nobody was in the restaurant at all at that time. We waited outside in the rain (with all of our party supplies) for 30 minutes as we knocked on the door, called repeatedly and emailed.
Thankfully, we pulled together as a team and were able to decorate the space down to the last minute when our guests started arriving at 11:00 A.M.
The stress however of them not showing up was awful and we didn't receive any apology or offer of a discount.
The carpets in the larger hall were really dirty and stained so that was a little embarrassing.
When we were trying to set up the music (that was to tie in to the built in speaker system) we had a lot of trouble and the workers that were in at that time said the Manager would need to help with that when she arrived. Eventually we had too many issues with the music and we switched to our backup plan of using our own Bluetooth speaker.
The microphone (that we paid to rent) also had issues and even turned all the way up was barely audible.
The food was GOOD but it was brought out late. The workers that brought the food out told us Management hadn't even informed them when the food was supposed to be brought out (that was specified previously). The servers didn't check often for drinks but it wasn't a huge deal as we just tracked them down when we needed something.
There are separate bathrooms for the larger hall rental. They had super watered down hand soap and they weren't very clean (the trash cans had something brown on top...probably rust but gross looking and should be replaced). We had the rental through 3:00 but the workers were already coming out to change out things for the next event during our time which was again, a little embarrassing as there were still guests in the space.
When we went to pay the final bill Rachel had doubled the charge on the microphone and podium rental. I happened to notice that so I pointed it out to her and initially she began to disagree until I pointed out on their pricing it was $25 so she corrected it for us.
Overall the errors didn't hugely impact the event for the guests (just us throwing the event), other than the carpets being dirty and the bathrooms...
Read moreOn 4/24 I visited this establishment for the first time. We had a rsvp for 20 people at 7pm and Gail was the manager on duty. As soon as our table was seated, the waiter came and explained that one of the employees in the past there has charged incorrect amounts to credit cards when processing multiple receipts/cards for a large party. As a result, we would not be able to receive are own individual checks, and had to use multiple cards to split one large check.
My fiance and I knew this was going to be a disaster as soon as she heard that, as we dine out often and that shows complete incompetence.
Sure enough when the bill came we were given one large check and told the waiter how much money to run on each card. The sign of a horrible waiter is when they never write anything down! My fiance even asked the waiter if he was sure he knew the correct amounts and he assured us he could remember!
One minute later our waiter comes back and tells me that he ran my card for the entire bill for 20 people by accident! Oops!
Gail-Restaurant Manager got involved when my waiter charged the correct amount to the card...but wasn't able to provide any voided receipt showing the credit back to my card. Every consumer knows any business can and they always do provide a voided receipt!
Gail-Manager proceeds to tell me that although I have 2 receipts showing charges close to $200 on my card, that the first transaction won't post to my card and I should see it come off in the next couple days on my credit card statement.
The correct bill and only bill we signed for was $40!!!!! Today I have my bank statement showing the $40 and a separate transaction of $20.99 which was unauthorized and been disputed as of today with Capital One!! Oh but I guess I'm supposed to just be happy the full bill never posted to my card though..
It gets worse in the end....Gail-Manager said the worst thing I have ever heard a MANAGER say to a CONSUMER EVER!!!! The manager told me don't worry..If it turns out that I'm lying and we do run the full amount to your card you can just dispute it because you only signed for the $40!!!!!
WELLS GUESS WHAT GAIL!!! THANK YOU FOR THAT!! I GUESS YOU JUST CHOSE TO TAKE AN UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION OF $20.99 IN ADDITION TO THE $40 WE SIGNED FOR INSTEAD OF RUNNING THE WHOLE AMOUNT FOR 20 PEOPLE UNAUTHORIZED!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT BE IN...
Read moreI’ve only been twice now. I will say i will continue to go because one the staff members I’ve come in contact with have been pretty decent. Rick was awesome excellent service! The food is nothing to go raving about but i like it because it’s good enough, everything I’ve had was decent. Both times I’ve stopped in was after doing the walking trail so I’m usually starving and winded. So the great service and quick service is much appreciated. The first time i ate at the bar had the chimichurro steak (sp?) mashed potatoes and asparagus. Steak was decent size fresh. Everything was a little bland but fresh and i didn’t mind i literally didn’t care just was hungry after my walk. The bartenders one older white guy maybe 40’s and black guy 40 ish i think seemed nice very professional checked on me. Today i stopped in again after my walk. I tried to try the place next door but was a 45 min wait so naturally i went next door to Timothy’s and was seated right away and was able to order. I had the crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries. Definitely enjoyed the sweet potato fries with the cinnamon dipping sauce. The crab cake was good to me. A little on the small side the buns were bigger than the crab cake but it was seasoned well and definitely lots of crab meat without the fillers like other places so i would definitely get that again. I sat outside first but the bugs and wind sent me inside. More so the wind the bugs were your typical normal things. Honestly if you know you know. Outside eating has it perks most days. Normally i like eating outside but it just wasn’t warm enough for me. Menu and napkins went flying off the table. The tables outside could use a good cleaning. The inside is like every other restaurant could use a nice thorough cleaning but looks decent enough. Like i said it’s a good spot. It gives me good ole local family friends style hanging out after work, dinner with the kids, or just hanging out after walking the trail. It’s a decent place. Bar seating, dining in and outside dining. It’s on the waterfront nice views plus a lot of other spots don’t open until 4pm around there so I’m grateful Timothy’s is there. I’ll definitely be a...
