My friend and I stopped over for dessert after dinner at a nearby restaurant, I had it bookmarked forever so I was prepared to be wowed. Street parking is very limited in front of the shop but they have a garage around the corner with free guest parking.
I love the way the shop is set up. They have a loft area upstairs as well as seating downstairs and outside. The inside counter with bar stools overlooks the activity on Wilton Drive. You order at the register and then you can take your treat to wherever you want to sit.
Wilton Creamery offers vegan, gluten, sugar free, and non dairy options of ice cream along with exotic toppings that include Moscato Wine Soaked Pineapples, Basil/Balsamic Strawberries, House Made Maple/Honey Walnuts, Cannoli Cream, Boba, and boutique chocolates. They can turn any ice cream into a shake or sundae and they sell dog ice cream and bubble tea. A menu specialty is Ice Cream Nachos made with cinnamon sugar chips, a scoop if ice cream, and topped with mixed berries, chocolate syrup, raspberry syrup, sweetened cream cheese, and whipped cream.
The ice cream had some creative limited batch flavors I was really interested in like Yuzu, pineapple cilantro, and aromatherapy inspired by the nearby massage parlors that is a frutatto olive oil sweet ice cream with fresh rosemary and lemon mint. I finally decided on a scoop of their most popular flavor He's Not Worth It!, vanilla and English toffee ice cream with Oreo cookies, Heath Bar, and chopped soft caramels with a sea salt caramel swirl.
My friend and I headed to the second floor loft where there are some couches set up. I dug in and found the mix-ins sparse in my scoop. Worst of all it was completed melted by the time I was half way through. I ended up leaving half in my cup. I have had a lot of great ice cream this summer and I was disappointed by my scoop here. It is still a cool space though and with their prime space on Wilton Drive, I am sure they have no lack...
Read moreLots of vegan/dairy free options for my partner that he thought were delicious! However I would have preferred an allergy scoop after discussing with staff that I am gluten free. Yes, they have things labeled, but the people working there said that the labels were out of date, they allowed me to look at the bottle of caramel sauce to confirm it was safe. Lots of cross contamination in the topping section (cookie crumbs in the candy, candy in the cookies etc.) And right before scooping my ice cream all the labels fell into the ice cream bins... definitely not sanitary. This is the only ice cream shop I've gone to in years that did not do an allergy scoop (opening a new container, getting a new scooper, wearing gloves etc.) where I live you don't even ask, as soon as you say you're gluten free, they do an allergy scoop. I understand places are different - maybe this is something that could be implemented here if there are lots of other gluten free folks!
Edited after receiving a response: I was less specific in my review (and have not edited it) saying I am gluten free, but very specific with staff, stating that I have a severe gluten allergy. After stating that I have a severe gluten allergy they mentioned that the cards may be out of date and offered me to review the back of a topping bottle to confirm. That was considerate. They did not however offer to perform an allergy scoop or get fresh toppings. Glad to know you will do an allergy scoop- if the magic words are "I'm celiac", as opposed to "I have a severe gluten allergy," I'll remember that should I...
Read moreWent here after dinner and the service was weird. My husband was served by a brown girl with crazy lashes he ordered the cookie Affogato cause he likes coffee . He’s never had this before. After ordering we’re moving along the line and someone else asks him what he would like we told them we already placed order with young girl. We’re waiting and someone else asks us what he ordered again! We said the cookie Affogato! The girl with the ugly lashes didn’t even pass on the appropriate order she was just continuously staring my husband in the face like she was in a daze. Yes he is beautiful stare all you’d like but get the darn order right! They then serve him his sundae as if it’s a sit down order when everyone else in our party got to go’s. And tbh there’s not even enough space to sit in there on a Sunday night it was so busy! My husband had to let the man who made it know it’s to go he then says “for future reference the Affogato doesn’t come as a to go option” well how the heck are we supposed to know that ? Crazy lashes didn’t inform us of that when ordering she was too busy trying to get my man’s attention instead of doing her job ! I pay for our orders while they fixed his to go even though they said it wasn’t an option and walked to the door with my sister and baby. Lashes then rushes over to my husband to ask if he’d like to pay …. As an excuse to speak to him once I walked away! Girl focus !!! You caused confusion with your coworkers and made a bad first impression for...
