China In Bombay — Restaurant in Winchester

China in Bombay is a place my husband has been visiting ever since he was in college. Used to be the best Chinese restaurant for him for all these years until the last two years it has just tanked. It’s just not what it was. We loved it and now we always come back with such disappointment. The food lacks flavor, the portion sizes are unbelievably small, the taste is just doused in cornflour.

What used to be flavorful, piping hot, delicious, and the absolute best is now gone in complete opposite direction. We did not like our last three experiences at all. I should have written a review when it was a 5 on 5 but then again this has been my experience in the last 3 years and I think I should let people know that the quality and quantity has definitely gone down hill. Unfortunate but this is what it has come to!

P.S That is the size of the Konji Beef vs the free rice...

My whole family used to visit China in Bombay. The food was reasonably priced (quite mediocre and the rice was def a hit or miss) but most of all halal right…? Wrong lol unless u believe mixing 2 pieces of halal chicken (and beef) with whatever other chicken (and beef) they use qualifies everything to be sold and ate as halal. The owner falsely advertises food as halal to make money off Muslims. Pretty disgraceful and frankly quite a cheap lowdown trick if you ask me. If it’s Chinese food you’re looking for and don’t care whether it’s halal or not there’s about a hundred other (better tasting) places (with better service) that Google can recommend. ⚠️PLEASE BE AWARE⚠️: THIS PLACE IS NOT HALAL. We have ordered from this restaurant many times before, and we were always told it was Halal. One day we ordered food from here, and it was put in a box that had PORK written on the side. When we called to ask why this was, the owner told us "the food is not pork, it was just a box we got from the place we get our meat." Think about that. If the place they are getting their meat from sells Pork, is this place selling Halal meat? The next day we went in and asked the man where the meat came from, and he would not tell us. After that, we asked him what Halal meant, he did not know. HE IS USING THE WORD HALAL TO GET CUSTOMERS!...
