Today as I approached the checkout, there was not a single employee in sight except the man outside cleaning carts. A couple came up behind me and we looked at each other and shrugged in wonder where a cashier was. There was only one lane with a light on, but I didn’t unload yet because I wasn’t sure it was actually the correct lane to be in since there were no employees. Eventually an young cashier with a red ponytail approached me and barked “Did you unload your cart?” And I said “No, I” and she interrupted “Well what are you waiting for! I’m not going to stand around and wait” And then WALKED AWAY FROM ME. I turned around to see an older blonde cashier approaching the register behind me. She shrugged and said “I can take someone over here.” And I asked “Should I come over there?” And she said “No, she’s coming back.” I unloaded my cart and the young woman came back and said “Your total is $35, you wanna know how things are so cheap here? Because we never stop moving.” And I said “Well I didn’t know because nobody was here.” I took my cart and left without being offered a receipt or an apology for my wait. I am not a mean, cranky, bitter old woman with high expectations of my grocery stores. I am extremely shy and courteous especially towards essential workers. I did not deserve to be treated this way because this young woman was not doing her job. This is also not my first interaction with this woman that has been unpleasant. She always barks orders like “Put in your card” or “Give me the cart.” She needs to be let go if she can not treat customers with respect especially when they are not doing...
Read moreI went to this ALDI location yesterday with my 18-month-old daughter as I normally do. Although, against my better judgement, I decided to forgo her nap in order to get shopping done quickly. Within 5 minutes of our shopping trip, my daughter grabbed a giant glass jar of salsa and threw it on the floor. It shattered, spraying salsa and glass pieces everywhere. I let someone know right away and within minutes 2 crew members were cleaning it up. They were so nice and wouldn’t let me help or pay for the salsa even though I insisted. After we finished shopping and I was bagging up our groceries, my daughter pulled the dozen eggs off the bagging counter and pulled them on to the floor. All the eggs broke leaving another huge mess. Someone else came by this time to help me but before he cleaned up the mess, he ran and got me another dozen eggs. Again, I was informed that it happens all the time and not to worry. It was amazing to me that the THREE people it took to clean up my daughters mess never once made me feel bad about it and genuinely wanted to help. They made a very embarrassed Mama feel so much better. Whomever manages that location is doing an amazing job and had such a great team. Thanks guys! P.S. we won’t skip nap time before we come in next time. On the off chance we do, I’ll...
Read moreJeff who works at this Aldi is phenomenal. I think the fact we're on a first name basis says a lot but if you haven't been to an Aldi and just judge it as a cheap/poor person's grocery store I challenge you to ask why you have that perception. I see more Lexus and BMWs there than Whole Foods because the richer you are in my opinion the more intelligent you are with your money and Aldi has ORGANIC, GLUTEN FREE, VEGAN, NON-GMO options that are high quality for half the.price of other stores. Look up an article.on why Aldi is so cheap and you'll see German engineering at it's best streamlining the convenience of the grocery store experience. I ask "Are you really so lazy you can't return your own cart? Do you need seventeen ketchup brands to choose from? Is a teenager really the most qualified person to bag...
