Yes, these treats are as delicious as they look and they have created the best combos for you already. Went after dinner with my husband and daughter because we had been meaning to try this place for a few weeks. My husband and daughter are absolute ice cream fanatics and they have scooped ice cream in very unique flavors that you can get in a cup with toppings, but their gorgeous, perfectly baked Twisted Chimney Rolls get a generous heap of soft serve and are encrusted with toppings specific to the version you order. It was my birthday and I was feeling festive so I got the Fruity Pebble. Sneakily my husband had asked them if they by chance had a birthday candle and though they did not, one of the employees darted out the door and came back in a few minutes and they presented my treat with a gold candle that they physically left the store to go get! Way Beyond the extra mile to make me feel special. I hesitate to say that because I wouldn't want them to be bombarded with this request but they were so hospitable and adorable. All of the workers were sweethearts and they even played happy birthday from their phone over the speaker for me. I was embarrassed and delighted and could not believe they went to that trouble for me! Absolute angels. So definitely above five stars for the service... but these treats! I was definitely more into the fresh baked chimney roll that is baked and glazed right in front of you and rolled in your topping. It is still warm in the cup when they hand it to you but magically the ice cream waits for you to enjoy it before it melts. It's a genius concept and covers your craving rather you want ice cream or baked goods. They also serve coffee and Italian sodas. Chocolate flavors, hazelnut, pistachio, cookie dough, chocolate, fruity pebble... their menu is very easy to navigate but they are helpful in helping you choose. Bravo guys! Thank...
Read moreI stumbled upon Twisted Roll Chimney Cake and since it's practically in my neighborhood, I couldn't resist checking it out the very next day. These guys are all about their Chimney Cakes (or Kürtőskalács), a unique treat hailing from Hungary and Romania – it's like this awesome cake-shaped spiral filled with deliciousness.
So, I brought my 11 and 9-year-old kiddos along. The guy who welcomed us, turns out he's the owner, was super friendly and gave us the lowdown on their offerings and their origins. They had quite the variety, which took us a hot minute to decide on. In the end, we settled on an Oreo cone and a classic cake.
The cool thing is, everything is made fresh to order. You can actually watch them craft and bake these goodies, customizing them with your choice of toppings. The Oreo cone was a hit with our choice of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate, and a whole Oreo on top. The kids were over the moon with it. And here's the kicker – that cone had a hidden surprise inside: chocolate chip cookie goodness. Talk about delightful!
Now, let's talk cake. It came with not one, but two dips: white chocolate and Nutella. And let me tell you, the cake was on point. The combination of that dough with the crispy toppings was a flavor explosion. We're definitely planning a comeback to try out their waffles, mini pancakes, and crepes – they've got us hooked! Highly recommended and it’s a...
Read moreExcellent customer service — have to say that first! The repeat customers were fabulous too. A large group of about 20 had pre-ordered and arrived just before us. They mentioned they always call ahead and praised how fast the store gets the orders out. They weren’t wrong — we were at the register in no time.
I was still deciding between the cone, the cup, the waffles, and the crepes — so many tempting choices. We eventually chose the pistachio and hazelnut cones. Watching them make the cones was fun: wrapping the dough around metal molds and cooking them fresh. Once the cones were ready, they placed what I can best describe as a cookie “stopper” in the bottom of each.
At first, I thought that was a clever idea, but unfortunately, it kept the ice cream from filling the cone properly. Combined with the contrast of cold ice cream and a warm cone, the ice cream melted quickly, which threw off the balance — not enough ice cream to enjoy with the cone all the way through.
The flavors were good, and the experience was unique, but at over $20 for two cones, it didn’t quite live up to the price. Was it worth trying once? Sure. Would we go back? Probably not.
Enjoying life 1 sip, 1 bite and 1 small town at a time....
