This past Saturday, my friends and I went to Piccadilly's and we all collectively agreed that we will never return. We spent most of our night on the second floor with the smaller bar. Towards the end of the night, we heard the bartender announce last call for drinks. My friend (one of the few, if not the only black person in the bar) and I went up to get another drink, but was told we could only get a drink if we had a tab open. We didn't, so we were told to go downstairs since the main bar would still be open. Not a problem. We started gathering our belongings from our table to go downstairs. As my friend was putting on his jacket, a bouncer took his drink and told him her was cut off. My friend hadn't drank enough to have problems moving around or conversing. We all asked why he was being cut off when the bartender had just told us to go downstairs to get another drink. He hadn't done anything to reasonably be cut off. The bouncer couldn't give a reason for cutting him off and told all of us to leave the second floor or we would be thrown out all together. We all went downstairs and were met with a crowd of other bouncers that told us to get our friend out of the bar or they would call the cops. We again asked what was the reasoning for cutting him off especially since we were all having a coherent and clear conversation. They couldn't name a single source of evidence as to why he should have been cut off, got tired of arguing, and told us all to leave. As we were telling the rest of our group that we were all leaving, as instructed, two bouncers grabbed our friend by his arms and threw him down the set of stairs at the exit. Luckily he's extremely athletic and sober enough to catch himself to avoid injury. The rest of our group, including myself, demanded answers for their inappropriate and violent actions. They never came up with reasoning and more importantly, didn't act aggressive towards us despite us being louder and rider than our friend. Our entire group was more disruptive than our friend who was cut off, yet no one laid a hand on us or threatened us with arrest. We were only told, "if you don't get your friend out of here, you're all going to have to leave." I'll be speaking with the managers and owner to demand answers for the bouncers' actions. This was a prime example of abuse of power. I use to go to Piccadilly's every time I visited Winchester and can confidently say that I will never return. We even heard other customers as we were leaving that they were confused as to way there was a problem to begin with. If you are a person of color, avoid this establishment to prevent verbal and/or...
Read moreWent here tonight, server explained special to us.. when food came it was not even close to what she told us. Was told plain grilled chicken with lump crab plaed on top with a side of remi sauce. What came was blacking chicken, with a very flat crab cake under it with a strange sauce smothered all over it. ( Salty, cheesy?) The side of soup (corn chowder) was cold and tasted like sugar was added...told server she didn't care or offer any other option. Asked for manager was told they were to busy and our issue was never addressed. Our appetizer was to be bone in wings, she gave us chunks of boneless chicken and when we asked she said they ran out of bone in. We didn't get an option to say no. She came to our table to ask where we were from was polite but damn teach staff proper table service. Teach them and have them try your special so they can explain it. We spent 150...and left with A very bad taste in our mouth. From this experience I would not recommend dinner. I would not recommend the special or soup. We never got a chance to fix or be heard, she wanted us gone. Servers should check with table thru the appetizer, drinks, meal and desserts. This didn't happen and she didn't care once she found out we were traveling. Beware never tell staff your on holiday, vacation, traveling, or not from that state super bad experience not happy and writing this review because staff sucks, food could have been fixed but staff didn't care. For that your lucky I'm giving...
Read moreAs any prospective customer can see, this establishment closes at 11 pm. Remember that fact, as it is extraordinarily pertinent to the final rating for our experience. My date and I showed up for cocktails around 7 pm. When we arrived, there was a sign graciously alerting us to the fact that there would be no hosting service provided on this particular Sunday evening. So, we ordered bar service, at which point the bartender fixed us some spectacular beverages, and then informed us that wait service would provide for us for the rest of the evening. We then finished our cocktails, and waited an hour and a half before having to search for the manager (we could not find any waiters in our section of the restaurant), to alert the wait staff to our presence. From that point, our evening was very pleasant until, at around 9:50, our waiter informed us of last call, and cashed us out without any problems. After paying, while my date and I were finishing our last drink, a waitress came to our table and screamed at us that she wanted to close, and that we were the only ones holding her up. We then proceeded to apologize to her, and to the manager, for misunderstanding that they were closing early. The manager then said to us, and I quote, "That is standard for businesses that are closing early," and then proceeded to shoo us out of the restaurant. As a former bartender myself, I can say that I have never asked a guest to leave less than 30 minutes...
