This place is great. There are about 17 stools. They were almost full when we got there. The four of us finished filling the stools. Diesel was our Chef. He was fantastic. The took the orders, he cooked the food, he got our drinks. He cleared the plates. He was very organized. Ok....the food was fantastic. We ordered 3 Frenchie Platters and a Country Fried Steak Platter. The Frenchie consisted of 3 slices of French Toast, fresh home fries, a protein(bacon, ham, sausage, scrapple, or corned beef hash), and 2 eggs any style. This was enough for 2 if not 3 people to split. Diesel cracked the eggs one handed. He would make the french toast batter fresh. He was great on the grill. Watching him was a pleasure. The Country Fried Steak Platter consisted of a breaded steak patty(yes it was frozen but it was one of the best ones I have had), 2 eggs, home fries with onions(cooked onions), gravy over the Steak, and toast( buttered and grilled not in a toaster). I like my fried eggs over hard, break the yolks, cooked well done. Diesel is one of the first cooks who cooked them the way I ordered them and they were perfect. I have had home fries other places and when you order them with onions the have added them at the end and they are not cooked and browned like the potatoes are. Well not here...he cooked them with the potatoes and they were fantastic. This was out first time there and it WILL NOT BE OUR LAST time. Plan on spending some time there. Your order is cooked in front of you on the grill. Also it is not cheep. But understand this you get what you play for. The 4 of us eat for $73.00(that was food, 2 teas, 2 unlimited refill coffees). It was worth every dollar. I have some other pictures of some of the other food too. The omelets are huge. They have a plate called the Veggie mess it is listed in the menu picture i posted. I saw 3 people share it and it was enough for 3 people. The coffee...
Read moreGoogle needs to update this posting as it does the new ownership no justice and is depriving potential diners of a great meal! About three weeks ago this location was taken over by new ownership after being closed for a short while. The name has been changed to Piccadilly Grill (no diner at the end) The menu has been updated. The location is the same. I Went last Saturday for breakfast. Upon entering you are warmly greeted by the new owner. The breakfast menu is not huge but has all the basics, but they are done very well and at a great value! The pancakes are very fluffy, tasty and large, the eggs are cracked and cooked to order in front of you. Very good bacon ( not thin see through strips like the chains use) and hash browned potatoes. I can only comment on what I ordered, but I will certainly go back and try other offerings. The establishment is very small, a counter with about 14 seats a small isle walkway behind you and in the bar opposite of where you sit is the entire kitchen. The layout hasn't changed since the new ownership if you have been here before. The food is hot and fresh, the cook uses safe food handling practices and it is a very clean kitchen area. Give this place a try before you go to one of the chain places far better than IHOP, Bob Evans or Denny's; in terms of quality of food, value of food and service. Very attentive wait staff and even the chef is pleasant and says hello. Support a small local business. You will not be...
Read moreMy wife and I were staying at the George Washington Wyndham and their food service was shut down due to COVID-19. We asked for a recommendation for breakfast and another guest suggested the Piccadilly Grill. At first we weren't sure but with few other options, we went in. We are certainly glad we did. If you are looking for an old school experience-- plentiful and good diner food, do not pass this place up. While it is a one-man show, the cook/owner never stopped working. He was conscious of all the orders, the customers, and worked the grill and counter seamlessly. At one point I even asked him when he was going to start juggling. Given the queue of orders, it took a little bit of time, but the wait was paid off with full plates of outstanding meals. It's a tough time for such businesses, but he's doing his best to make it work. Although another reviewer criticized the prices, it was more than fair--for Virginia or anywhere else. If you're ever in Winchester in the morning, make a point to stop here. You won't be...
