Handworks Gallery — Local services in Winchester

I came in here over this past weekend (Labor Day weekend) to look and see if anything caught my eye. There was a sculpture of a dinosaur that I thought was amazing. I ended up taking a picture of it. As I was done taking the picture, I put the phone in my purse and turned around to continue to look around. Both girls that were working the counter looked me up and down as if I was doing something wrong. They then proceeded to have a conversation about how to catch people stealing from the shop and shared stories between each other about who they've caught stealing from there, etc. This conversation proceeded the whole time my Fiancé and I were in the store and it was loud enough that we could hear the whole thing. I felt so uncomfortable being there. I ended up buying a necklace that I love, however, I felt unwelcome there. It's a beautiful store and the stuff they have is amazing, however, the customer service was terrible. For future reference, talk about that kind of stuff when there aren't potential sells in the store. It puts a bad vibe in the room and it definitely left a sour taste...

This was an enchanting store with wonderful unique items. The last several times we've been the atmosphere has changed. The employees used to be so kind and friendly. The employees including the owner seem very low energy, and unwelcoming. What used to be a warm welcoming store is now a place you are barely noticed - a glance up from a cell phone is a hit or miss. I recently brought my family there and we had to wait at the counter for the employees to finish a personal conversation, to make our purchase. This used to be a charming store. I hope the two new employees they recently hired bring the life back...
