Brothers Pizzeria — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I am ashamed to admit I was hesitant to check out brothers because it seemed like any ole simple pizza place. Based on the decor and menu I wrongly judged a book by its cover and didn't go in until realizing nothing else was open at noon on a Sunday. Can't speak to the pizza but one of the best hoagies of my life!

Was served by the owner, a sweet single father from NJ. As an out of towner as soon as I heard he was from NJ my ears perked up. Say what ever you want about NJ but they know how to make a hoagie. (I'm from PA myself). I got a prosciutto and mozzarella hoagie with roasted red peppers. Wonderful mix of flavors and the bread was perfect. The bread can make or break a hoagie and this bread was truly perfect. Nice crispy crust for the great crackle as you bite in but not so hard it stabs the roof of your mouth. The inside was a medium soft. Firm enough to hold the interior without being soggy or squished but soft enough to bite through without pulling or having to gnaw at it.

Located in downtown Winston and open till 3:00am, it’s the perfect place to grab a late night bite. The choices are like a true NY pizzeria, only difference is they do not have them on display. You order at the counter and they will call you up when ready. Staff & owners are very friendly. There is plenty of booth seating and there is always funky music play for a nice vibe. You feel like you’re back in a NY pizzeria. We ordered the 12” White Pizza, which has ricotta, tomatoes and garlic. I asked for extra garlic, which was a mistake. I should have asked if it was fresh garlic, it was not, they use garlic powder which killed my taste buds on my tongue. I have had regular pizza here among other items before and loved it all. I did not hate it this time but I wish they used fresh garlic…..makes a huge difference in my honest opinion. As far as the fresh ricotta and mozzarella it was on point, tomatoes may have been canned and also not fresh. Crust is thin and oven baked perfectly. Still love this place, just no extra Garlic!!! Won’t be getting any...

Ordered 3/12/2023 through uber eats. If I could give a 0 I would. Purchased $60 worth of food from here. Everything I ordered was either stale, bland, or overcooked. My husband trashed a whole chicken parm as the bread was not fresh and the sauce ans chicken was flavorless. He loves chicken parm by the way. It's his favorite. The fries were overcooked. Practically burnt. The pizza lacked flavor or ranch (sauce) although it was the chicken, bacon, ranch, pizza. It was severely dry. The cesar salad was at least edible, other than the stale croutons. The 20 oz. Pepsi I ordered was the best thing I received. Contacted uber and the restaurant itself. The manager there ( a woman at the time) advised there was nothing she could do. Totally unacceptable customer service and beyond sub par food. I will not be patronizing this place again due this horrible response. The inability to correct an issue as a business is unprofessional no matter what the circumstances after a consumer has spent over $50 patronizing a place...
