Tulum Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I came in on July2, 2024 for dinner with a friend who had not been there before. I've ate there several times always been a great experience first issue is I order the fajita chicken quesadillas. I wanted my vegetables, which were the green peppers, onions and chicken. I wanted that grilled inside of quesadedilla. After surgery had my food warmed up to bite down into raw vegetables. Sever ANGEL even asked if i wanted them grilled. I then ordered the Chori Pollo chicken which comes with tortillas i said can i get them mixes 1 corn 2 flour Tortilla? He said fine. My friend ordered Margarita. She said it tasted like a cough medicine and she was upset about that she also ordered her food. I can't remember what it was she wanted to add avocado and he said no problem. I then waited for my second order. I saw people getting their food that came in after me. It never came. We asked for napkins 3 different times he said oh I got you. I had extra fourth time he was like l got u , he finally brought them so, then I stopped to my ask where my food was and he was like. Oh I thought you were asking me about the other dish. No I put in an order. I told you exactly what I wanted, so then he's like. Okay. I can put that in. For you, I'm like at this point I didwant to taste it. You know, before I left, but I'm having surgery tomorrow, so that will be a great thing for me to have after surgery. So I'm just gonna get it to go. Well, lo and behold, when we leave the restaurant and take a look at the receipt, you charge me for tortillas that I did not even know you were charging me for I asked for 2 tortillas and one corn. You charged me for a whole additional set of tortillas and then you also charged me for the to go, which makes no sense because that order was something. I wanted, then at the table, it's not my problem or mistake that you made that you didn't place it very unprofessional. You should tell people the prices of things before you just add them to the ticket. Also 2 with the person that I brought you charged them $3 for 3 avocado. Strips, we could have brought our own avocado. If that was the case won't be back worst experience ever. I'm gonna make sure I let everyone know you charge me to take food out of the restaurant that...

The wait staff was unknowledgeable, I found more alcohol in a children's cough syrup than the $16 drinks. We ordered the $16 ceviche entree for the table as an app and there were five times as many onions and tomatoes as there were any fish. The chorizo queso was good. They kept trying to deliver this random drink and it wasn't till our entrees came that we learned the drink they were trying to deliver was or should have been our missing entree which was never put in and we were told it would take 20 minutes. Did we want it?... While one is sitting there with no food. They used their restaurant name in several of the dishes and drinks so that probably added to the confusion. But we were ordering entrees when she put this in... drinks were already ordered and remade by the manager because the alcohol content was so low. The second or third time they tried to offer us this drink, I finally took it and it was like the first drinks... just juice, No alcohol. All the dishes were medium temperature and nothing remarkable for flavor. The rice was really good and the fried shrimp dish was massive and the best thing that was ordered. They still charged us for the forgotten entree which was ridiculous cuz we were packing up by the time it came. Very disappointed. I hope they work things out... We had a table of 8. Our food came out 15 - 20 minutes apart. I ordered chicken fajitas. My food was last coming out and they were not sizzling like I'm used to getting. It was cold from sitting in the back. One of the kids 7 yrs old, ordered chicken tenders, he never recieved his food while all the adults were eating. Finally they bought his food out in a to go box after everyone else at the table finished eating. No one asked for the child's food to go, we expected him to eat with everyone else at the table. It was an insult for the child to have never recieve any food to eat. We told the manager about the child never receiving his food. He acted unconcerned. Two of the other folks at the table food got mixed up. One ordered chicken burrito, the other steak. When we informed the manager of the mix up, new orders were made but everyone at the table was done eating. They boxed their food to go as well. This was our family/ friends night out to eat but we never got to eat as a family. Customer service sucked at this restaurant. Everyone at our table agreed we would never eat there again Plus we paid $70 for cold chicken fajitas and "late to the table" burrito, cheese dip, 1 margarita and 1beer. A little pricey.
