(Before reading please note I worked as a Garde Manager/Pantry Chef in a fine dining establishment for about 6 years) Had our annual Christmas party here just last week. It would appear they didn't really prepare for the party even though it was booked with several weeks notice. Table arrangement was poor considering we were a party of ~30 and had the entire upper room ourselves.
We were allowed 2 "drink tickets" per individual along with a menu of the various spirits they had on offer and were told (I believe she was the dining manager) to order anything we wished. When time came to place said orders, we were either told that we couldn't redeem those tickets for said spirit, or they were conveniently out of most of the top shelf offerings. A little consistency would have gone a long way here..getting mixed messages from dining managers/wait staff isn't a good look & something that could/should have addressed ahead of time. Drinks themselves were not shy on the alcohol but were not the best mixed drinks I've had by a long shot. Bartender appeared to be slightly intoxicated or on some form of medication. (I mean no disrespect, perhaps they were called in on their day off.. I am simply making an observation.)
As far as the food was concerned, it was mediocre. Nothing to write home about. Caesar salad was decently flavored but overly tossed, thus wilting the lettuce a bit. Sirloin on our set menu was one of toughest I've ever had, even with it being Medium Rare..so much so I gave up on it about halfway through. Mashed potatoes were on the glutinous/runny side. The roasted brussel sprouts were the best part of the entree.
Service was barely adequate..staff were friendly & polite but there were essentially only 2 staff members to take care of a party of 30. While this "can" be done, it would require 2 absolutely top tier wait staff to pull off. Oh and in regards to the 2 wait staff...1 of them was the aforementioned bartender.
Long story long, I appreciate the restaurant accommodating us but the execution was flawed. I understand taking care of a party of 30 is difficult (please reference my statement at the beginning of the review) but ensuring the necessary resources are available and having a well laid plan that has been discussed with all staff eases much of...
Read moreAs we walked to dinner we were passing many architectural appealing buildings, we saw one that had beautiful large windows with wide dark brown trim and soft lighting pouring out from the inside. We commented on how nice it looked and before we passed it completely, we realized it was Jeffrey Adams! We turned around and entered into the quiet and slightly empty restaurant. That initially had me concerned, but that concern did not last long.
We were seated at a large booth- big enough for 6 or 8 adults. It was comfortable. Very quickly the rest of the restaurant filled up.
Our waitress was very attentive even as it became busy. She provided thorough information on the menu. I ordered a 4 oz filet minion medium with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. My friend had the crab dip. I also couldn’t help but order a Pama Paloma because, why not?
The filet was cooked to perfection. The right amount of red with mouth watering flavor. The outside was seared with the perfect amount of crisp and salted just right. The inside was soft and juicy. The mashed potatoes were soft with some skin remaining. Together with the steamed mixed vegetables (green beans, onions, brussels sprouts and broccoli, thinly sliced carrots), I ate every single bite! The Paloma was the right amount of tart compared to the savory dinner. The biggest and most reading surprised was the crab dip. As Marylander, we have high expectations and this did not disappoint! We highly recommend Jeffrey Adams for way more than the initial...
Read moreGreat little dining gem! We were passing through the area and wanted a bite but not the usual 'grease traps' you typically find off the Interstate. The website reads, "farm- -to-table", Southern style dining. Sounds like a plan 👍
Time to restaurant: We called ahead to ensure they had a table as it was late evening on a Friday and a mile or two off the Interstate along with a few turns...not a big deal.
Parking: Parking garage about half block down from the restaurant but we found something directly across the street from the restaurant.
Receptionist: The receptionist/waitress was on the phone when we arrived and did not acknowledge us (look to be taking a to-go order). Not a huge deal as we called ahead and reserved a table.
Seating: So a different wait person came and greeted us before noticeably long and led us to our table which was at the very back of the restaurant. It was strategically close to the bar and big screen tv but yet also the entrance to kitchen - NOT COMPLAINING - as we were happy to get something at that late hour!
FOOD:👌 Definitely get the pot roast nachos...I know! Doesn't sound like it but they are awesome!!! Man oh man...will you be surprised.
Burger was also really good...HUGE!
Salmon salad delete Salmon add grill chicken breast...best damn salad I've had in awhile no dressing needed..full of flavor all on it's own!
There you have it...true to life review/experience. I'd definitely go again and...
