"A perfect symphony of flavor"
In town for work and to be honest, walking in, I didn't expect much more than your average bar burger. I could not have been more wrong.
Starting with the main attraction, the food. I ordered the BBQ Beacon onion burger and a side of onion rings.
THE BURGER: one of the best I have ever had. I could tell from the first bite that everything was fresh. The beef was perfect and juicy. The Beacon was thick with a bit of a crunch, so you know, perfect. The potato bun was light and airy and with just the right amount of BBQ sauce. I have never used this expression before, but this burger was a perfect symphony of flavor. With every bite, I could taste the patty, the cheese, the pickle, the sauce, the onion ring, and the bun. I can honestly say this was a first.
THE ONION RINGS: FRESH! I don't know if you have ever tried to make fresh onion rings before, but it's almost impossible to get the breading to stick. They nailed it. Now, one of the rings wasn't quite done because the onion was still firm and hadn't released all of its sweetness yet, but overall DELICIOUS. The batter had a small hint of spicy to it. It's hardly noticeable, but enough to bring more flavor to the party.
There is no gimmick to the atmosphere, and the menue is simple. What they do, they do extremely well. Combine all of this with great service. I will be back several times before I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolute hidden gem in downtown Winston-Salem! We ended up here after being utterly disappointed by a place right up the block, and let me tell you; if we didnāt have a show to get to last night, we could have stayed here for hours! The bartender was so attentive and kind, and the food and drink was exceptional. We ordered the pretzel bites appetizer with cheese and mustard, and talk about starting high! The pretzels were buttery and hot with a crispy outside and fluffy inside. The cheese was AMAZING! I saved it to dip my burger and tots and I really could have just eaten it with a spoon. We ordered the classic burger and the bbq bacon fried onion burger with sweet potato fries and tots, respectively. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. I have a long-standing dislike for sweet potato fries, but I shamelessly ended up stealing 90% of the sweet potato fries on my wifeās plate! They were crispy, sweet, and savory. The perfect accompaniment to the burgers.
There are plenty of TVs to watch, whether youāre at the bar or seated at a table. This staff knows what theyāre doing, and they do it so well!! The quality of the food, drink, and service you get at such an affordable price point is beyond awesome. I wouldnāt hesitate to drive 2hours again to eat and drink here.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here last week with some friends for the first time and we had a pretty good meal. I had actually stopped by once before a few months ago on a Wednesday when they have their dollar wing and $5 house wine special. I sat at the bar that time but nobody ever came over to help me so I ended up leaving. This second (first real) experience was much better. We were seated at a table and our waitress was nice and attentive. They have a large expansive menu and weekly specials as well. It was actually national margarita day, so we ended up getting a $5 marg special with our entrees. I went with the bacon and pimiento cheeseburger, added onion rings. My friends ordered the shrimp special and a build your own spud. The food came out pretty quick. I really enjoyed my burger; I thought the onion rings were okay - way too breaded; like 85% breading and maybe a couple actual onions overall. Pricewise, it's pretty standard, around$15 for an entree. Overall atmosphere of this place is pretty laid back and casual. It was really busy when we arrived around 7pm and had thinned out around 830 when we left. I'm giving this a generous 4 stars; i'd say it's more 3.5-3.75 stars but I would definitely come back to hopefully try the wing wednesday...
