Dairi-O of Stanleyville — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I reviewed this place of business several years ago when it was in Stanleyville. I went to the new Dario for the first time last night that's located off of University parkway in Winston-Salem. The young fellow taking the order took 10 minutes to understand that all I wanted was an Oreo shake, a hand-dipped cone, soft serve, A small order of fries and a small hot fudge sundae. When I asked if I could order a child's size order of fries he stated yes, and then asked what I wanted on my hot dog. I informed him I didn't order a hot dog I simply wanted a small fry. The drive-thru was not as busy as I have seen it when it first opened. We were in the credit card line so it was much shorter there were three cars ahead of us. It took a full 15 minutes to get our small order of which we had to pull ahead and wait. When the milkshake was handed to me it's spilled all over the door The lid was not put on proper, the fries had been handed at the window by this point were cold, and the hand dipped cone was not a cone at all but it was in a cup. I told the staff that's not what I ordered but did not want to wait another 15 minutes so I took what she gave to me. When I got home the hot fudge sundae didn't have any fudge on the top, it was all on the bottom, as was the dipped butterscotch that was supposed to be a cone. There was maybe a teaspoon of ice cream inside the rock hard butterscotch dip. I do not know what has happened between the old Dario and the new, but something clearly has gone...

Typically I have had an overall good experience with this Dairio but Meredith changed that today. I came through the drive thru and ordered a large hot fudge sundae no cherry add wet walnuts and 2 single scoops of chocolate ice cream in separate cups and a large fry. I repeat my order several times to make sure the lady at the window understood exactly what I wanted. I paid the 15 dollars and change and when I got my order I recieved the large sundae, the large fry and a cup with 2 scoops of ice cream instead. When I brought this to the attention of the staff that I specifically asked for 2 single scoops of chocolate ice cream in 2 separate cups I assumed they would just correct their mistake. Instead I was told that it was against there policy to fix the mistake and if they did they would have to cancel the order and rering it resulting in an additional charge. The other option would be for them to give me an additional cup and I could fix the issue myself by seperating the scoops. I asked if they could just seperate the scoops being that is what i ordered and it was a flat no due to company policy as explained by Meredith. It is hard for me to imagine that Dario would have a policy in place that prevents staff from correcting a mistake they made and instead having the customer just deal with it. Twice this week we have had busy evenings and have done what we have been doing for years now, I call an order in and my husband picks it up. On Tuesday, there were no fries in the bag and it plainly stated on the ticket "FRIES". He had just gotten off of work, so no he did not go back out. Tonight, it is Friday. We did try to order pizza, but it was going to be a long wait, so we decided to go back to our old faithful. Dairi'O. Number 1. Mustard and chili only on both. Sweet tea. I repeated that to her twice and she repeated it back. I also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with mustard, mayo, tom, onion and pickles. There probably was a combination of 1/8 tsp of must/mayo combination on one of the driest chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. We did get the fries. However, those hot dogs that I repeated twice and were repeated back to me twice? They had mustard and ketchup on them. It even said mustard and chili on the ticket on the bag.

I can remember when an order of fries was so large that it was almost too much for 2 people to eat, now there is barely half of a bag. The grilled chicken tasted just like that, grilled chicken. Now, it tasts like canned chicken.

That little bitty restaurant in King always served quality. Now, with the more restaurants that are opening, that quality seems to be getting more and more diluted.
