We finally got to try Sizzlin’ Greens yesterday for their grand opening! What an AWESOME place and such an amazing addition to Winter Garden!!! This is the type of place you’d expect in California or Europe - so much better and healthier than practically anything in the entirety of West Orlando. This restaurant is in a brand new plaza with a few other awesome food and drink places, and it’s very much worth the drive from pretty much anywhere in the city. They specialize in salads, sandwiches, and soups, they use organic greens for their salads, they have awesome gluten-free options (like gluten-free sandwiches), and a few other awesome sides too! Their kids’ menu is great as well with grass-fed beef for their burgers.
You need to try their “pick 2” combo when you come in; you can combine a salad, sandwich, or soup in any combination - add a protein like chicken, steak, salmon or portobello mushrooms to the salad to enhance it so much more! They grill the proteins for your salad freshly to order and you can tell they use much higher-quality meat than a standard restaurant. They proudly have signs saying “no microwaves”, “no seed oils”, “no fryers” - all making it so much healthier than a regular restaurant. The nail in the coffin for other restaurants is Sizzlin’ Greens’ very reasonable prices. I don’t know how they do it…you can get a full meal for around $10 here - the same price as a fast food meal for something that’s actually healthy and cooked to order! They even give the salad dressing on the side by default because they know how crazy some places are with the excessive dressing amounts on their salads. This is a gem in Winter Garden and it absolutely deserves...
Read moreI had seen several posts on a FB community page about this new restaurant that recently opened. My wife and I decided to stop in for late lunch on a Saturday to see what it was all about. When you first walk in the entrance , it’s very inviting and modern. First glance at the menu and you see salad options and then sandwich options. They also have fresh homemade soups. Everything looked fantastic! I wanted a salad, but the chimichurri steak sandwich caught my eye. We met Jason as we walked up to order. He asked if it was our first time in and offered to answer any questions we might have. After talking through options, I decided to get a sandwich and a build your own salad. My wife also ordered a build your own salad. I knew she would help with the sandwich since she was curious as well. We ordered and found a table. The food came out within just a few minutes. Everything looked delicious so we dive right in. First bite of the sandwich and I’m impressed. Fresh, warm and really flavorful. I’ve had many experiences with steak sandwiches and what I really appreciate is when you take a bite and all the rest of the steak stays in the sandwich. That’s exactly what I got. I would have posted a pic of it, but I was so excited to try it that I forgot. I had seen a post that said that it was great to have a new option in town that thinks about the meat eaters as well as the salad eaters. Totally true! Really fresh and fantastic tasting food. Great service and inviting atmosphere. There was outdoor seating as well with umbrellas. The owner and his son Jason were a delight to talk with. If you’re looking for a great place to get a great meal, you need...
Read moreI had my first experience at Sizzlin' Greens and the moment i walked in I was welcomed by one of the co-owners themselves which was very humbled and welcoming. He explained the details of structure of their foods and quality which was very impressive!
I had the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich which was complemented by a side of chickpea salad or broccoli slaw- I am not very fond of either so I ordered a mac and cheese as a side. My fiancé ordered a build-your-own salad. with a drink the total came out to 40.73 after tax.
I'll start with my meal- the Chimichurri steak was really fresh and the sauce was not as pungent, just sharp enough to give that acidic taste it needs, I don't normally do grilled onions because most restaurants do not get the onions down state where it's not caramelized but also not lightly grilled. Everything paired great together with the baguette.
My fiancé's salad was very good, a step above what she was expecting in terms of quality, freshness and flavor. Build your own allows you to choose your topping and base of your salad. She was ready to order a 2nd salad not because it was small but only because it was a late lunch and she wanted another for dinner- we settled on showing up tomorrow.
I personally wanted to do a salad but I'm still a novice at eating salad and probably a huge deal breaker for my salad is having granny smith apples which they didn't have- but for salad eaters you'll find a huge list of options to choose from. Trying something new was adventurous enough but when I'm on the need of being more adventurous I would consider getting a salad still...
