My wife and I came to celebrate the grand opening of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Scoop Shop located in the charming Winter Park Village area of Winter Park. The location is nestled right next to Regal Cinema so it is very easy to get too once you find parking. I loved how the front of the scoop shop looked with their sign adorned with big bold lit up letters spelling out Jeni's Ice Creams, it draws in once you lay your eyes on their sign. Once we stepped inside all you saw were lovely bright colors from wall to wall with delicious pictures of their ice cream flavors draped all over the walls. The decor was very awesome and quite pleasant very welcoming. They had tons of exclusive flavors to choose from I was able to try three scoops that I shared with my lovely wife, those flavors were Gooey Butter Cake, High Five Candy Bar, and Frose Sorbet. All three flavors were very scrumptious delumptious bursting with flavor in every bite. High Five Candy Bar was made up of three delicious ingredients Peanut butter, caramel, chocolate, and pretzels which combine to make a very creamy & crunchy mix of awesomeness, with every bit you got a different flavor it was so good. The Gooey Butter Cake & the Frose Sorbet were my wife's favorite both flavors were neck to neck for being her favorite out of the three flavors that we tried they both were really delicious. The Frose Sorbet was a Sangria-style frozen rosƩ with pear, strawberry, and watermelon. The Frose Sorbet was very refreshing it would be the perfect companion on a hot & sunny day which is perfect for Florida which is usually hot on most days. Lastly the Gooey Butter Cake is like eating the most delicious blondie brownie you have ever tasted but it's in ice cream form, its was so freaking delicious it was yummy in my tummy. The customer service was very top notch both employees who were working were very friendly, helpful, and quite knowledgeable about all there was to know about the different ice cream flavors that they offered perfect customer service. I would definitely recommend Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream Scoop Shop in Winter Park Florida it's a great experience for the whole family that provides great tasting ice cream, so grab the whole family and get yourself a great tasting scoop of creamy goodness from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell here we go, another competitor in the Kelly's-dominated Orlando area. Will this big, trendy chain be able to make a dent in the ice cream market share? It's certainly gonna give it it's best shot posting up in the luxurious Winter Park Village. That'll get them some high-end clientele and in the eyes of a lot of Grammers and TikTokkers.
But anyway, to the ice cream. I love how they have flavors that are normal and you know what they are, and I love how they have flavors that you have no idea what they are until you read the ingredients. (Cosmic Bloom??) I love how they have monthly rotating flavors. That is the only way to guarantee repeat business from customers. I know I don't go to Baskin Robbins anymore, boring.
I also love how they have plenty of dairy-free flavors that actually taste very good. I don't need dairy-free, but for those who do, rest assured that you won't have a decline in quality with the options they offer here.
When I came on this particular trip, I did happen to get the dairy-free Texas Sheet Cake (Decadent chocolate cake crumbles, bittersweet fudge, and palate-gripping cocoa) and the Gooey Butter Cake (Cream cheese ice cream layered with crumbles of vanilla cake and a swirl of caramel-butterscotch sauce) in a double scoop in a waffle cone situation.
The sheet cake was so good. It was very chocolately, but without being too chocolately... sorry for that, but trust me on that description. You'll see. And the butter cake, the reason it was so good was because the ice cream itself was cream cheese flavored, so you didn't have to sacrifice topping space, so genius!
So you have beautiful ice cream in a beautiful space in a beautiful shopping complex, and you get treated like royalty because I'm sure the staff is trained to think that anyone of us could be a Winter Park mega lawyer. Was it as good as Kelly's? I can't say. That goes outside the scope of this review. Will I be back? Only if I'm in the area, sorry, I live in Oviedo.
Bottom line it, that this place was very good, and if you come here, you will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, I really wanted to give them 5 stars, but ... Let's start with the important stuff. The ice cream, if you pulled this up, that should be the #1 factor. Yes! The ice cream is delicious, the flavors uniquely done, and the texture fantastic. #2, the service, great! The ladies were engaging and friendly from the moment I walked in. #3, the place, really pleasant location and vibe inside. However.... I hate to do this.... But for the price, it kind of kills it. The scoops are quite small, and a cup with two (really small) scoops is $6.25. Meaning that for two delicious and tiny cups and if you leave them a bit of a tip, you are looking at almost $14. If then, you buy a single scoop for your ice cream loving pup, another $5 š³. So in total, roughly $20!
The location is genius, and amazingly convenient for those that just went to or are about to go to the movies, right next to Regal, they also have a grassy area across the way, and across from Bar Louie. There is even an outdoor checkers/chess life sized play board along the grassy area. Almost a park-like feeling.
In all, I would recommend them. Jeni's has the right kind of thing going on to make it an appealing destination for yummy ice cream with excellent flavors to make it worth your while if you're in the area. I just wouldn't drive the 25 minutes like I did yesterday just for the ice cream.
Give 'em a shot!!! Hope you enjoy it!
Oh yeah, tried the "gooey butter cake", the "orange dreamsicle", the "really dark chocolate", "the salty peanut butter with chocolate flakes".... All were really well executed, and...
