FLOODED DONUTS
so i go in here all the time and the store is always extremely busy. today was no exception, hot donuts cooking, employees filling in store and drive thru orders and then it was my turn, as i got to the register I noticed it...
at least 8 employees all working in and around about 4-6 INCHES OF SETTLED WATER AS THE DRAINS WERE STOPPED UP AND NOT MOVING
so what type of shoes does one wear to work indoors in a restaurant around electricty and hot donut making equipment to keep them safe from harm and electrocution?
should they have work boots on like they wear on jobsites?
are they paid a premium for HAZARDOUS working conditions?
as the consumers mill in and out all the while these employees are risking their lives for what? umm maybe $10hr? maybe $12 hr? if krispy kreme is really generous maybe $14hr?
as they easily earn upwards of mid 5 figures a week!!!
everyone that comes in and out and loves those donuts should also care about the employees who start their days at 4-5am while they are still sleep to get them those hot donuts.
see pics
i am a strong proponent of capitalism but not at the cost of the employees or their lives.
we just have to do better...
question - what of krispy kremes many consumers this morning (as i had to wait on line to place my order), why am i the only one who said anything about this?
the large pool of standing water was about 12" x 10" wide and was wayyy to hard to miss when standing at the register.
...what happens if someone slips and falls? You know they hv no benefits...
...these ppl are the forgotten and are literally risking their lives to keep those hot donuts coming...
mold, mildew, sinus and breathing problems can occur this is deplorable. im sorry but just thinking about what those people have to endure just to serve donuts... donuts!!!... ...
Read moreMy mother-in-law recently lost her husband. It's been a really hard time for our family. She lives down in SoFla and the closest Krispy Kreme is over 90 miles away, in Brandon, and honestly, it's something she's been craving. Call it a comfort food, I guess. She really wanted the doughnuts hot - she didn't want to just buy them from Publix and heat them. It meant something to her. I'm sure there's nostalgia attached.
Flash forward to this week. She was up visiting us in Orlando, and we decided to take her to the Krispy Kreme in Winter Park after we had been out for dinner. I knew for a fact (yay for being the fat kid in high school!) that this particular branch made the doughnuts fresh and hot throughout the day and evening.
When we walked in, the team members immediately greeted us and showed real Southern hospitality. I explained how far my MIL had driven to get a taste of KK, and the clerk, Tiffany, handed her a fresh glazed doughnut on the house. I was so touched, and the look on my mom's face as she grinned and dived in was so priceless and necessary.
After, I stayed behind to personally thank Tiffany and explain the situation. I wanted her to know just how much her kindness meant and how monumental it felt to us. We held hands over the countertop and prayed for each other. It was a really genuine, authentic, moving experience.
I will never forget how Krispy Kreme made a difference in our time of hardship and sadness. It wasn't just the delicious doughnuts, the affordability, the great service, and the generosity. It was the fact that they treated us with dignity, didn't ask questions or make fun of us for fangirling, and displayed patience and love. Thank you so much, Krispy Kreme & Tiffany, for impacting...
Read moreGreat donuts. Melt in your mouth, they're so fresh. The classic is my favorite one to get. I gave this 4 stars because the parking lot drive through layout is very poorly designed. I've only been here twice for that very reason. First time I ate 3 donuts before even being able to leave the parking lot. 2nd time I waited 45 mins AFTER receiving my order before I was able to leave. When the place is gridlocked like that, am employee or manager needs to go outside and direct traffic. Put an emphasis on moving the line out of the drive through. Keep people from forcing their way into the parking lot and into and close off the entrance on the south side. That way all the people that are in the drive through line can just leave. That's the biggest issue. Is people coming from the south entrance get added to the drive through exit line, they want to go left to get in the drive through line, but the people on 17/92 barely let them in. So we're just grid locked. The only reason I ever got out in 45 minutes was because 7 cars gave up and just left. 7 customers actively waiting in the line just left, countless customers that couldn't even enter the parking lot from either entrance gave up. And's that only gave enough room for 2 customers that had their orders to exit the parking lot. VERY TERRIBLE LAYOUT. You're losing so many customers. Simple solution, when its busy put up cones to block the south entrance. And put up cones that forces people coming out of the drive through to exit on to 17/92, which in turn will keep people entering from 17/92 from blocking...
