The greatest purchase experience anywhere for anything I have ever bought!
First, some background information: my wife and I had just purchased two brand new mattress sets for our bed and our guest bed. After using these mattresses for thirty days, we started developing excruciating back pain. For the other new mattress that was purchased (same brand), our extended stay guest also stated that the mattress was also creating a lot of discomfort for them. After our guest departed and six months since the original mattress purchase had elapsed, we set out to find a different mattress for ourselves. One VERY IMPORTANT point is that which ever mattress we bought, it had to have NO SPRINGS in it dues to the stairway opening in our home, going to the bedroom. The stairway opening was narrow and this is the primary reason we wanted a mattress in a box. If you bend or fold a mattress that uses coils, the mattress will be permanently damaged and it will affect the quality of your sleep.
So we set out to shop for a mattress and a pillow set. We wanted to try a bed-in-a box such as Lull or Serta-something for less than $1500 but we really wanted Tempurpedic pillows. We knew the Tempurpedic mattress was considerably more expensive than the previously mentioned mattress brands. We looked at many different brands of bed-in-a-box. We decided to take a break and shop for pillows, instead. We decided on the Tempurpedic pillow.
We ended up at the Tempurpedic store in Winter Garden because they were the only store in the Orlando area that had said pillows in stock. I called ahead of time to verify stock and we went there where we met the Tempurpedic sales person, Greg.
As we were about to pay, I asked if tempurpedic offered a ābed-in-a-box line of mattress that would be less expensive than their typical mattress line. Greg said that they have something similar to this, in that it has no springs. He then asked us several questions an about how we sleep, i.e, back sleeper, on our sides etc.
With Gregās patience, my wife and I were able to decide on a mattress that worked well for us. The price was quite expensive for a mattress-to the point that I would have never considered buying. But as he explained and as I thought about it, I agreed that being able to get a good nights sleep is vitally important. On the previous mattress, I was in so much pain by the morning, that I did not even want to move to get out of bed! This is definitely not a good way to start your day.
Greg offered an approximately 90 day sleep satisfaction warranty and explained it thoroughly. I had found that all mattress companies offered this, but also discovered that Tempurpedicās was considerably shorter than the others. This did not bother me as I felt that we would know in a month or so, if this mattress was actually going to solve our problem.
Greg offered us interest free financing and the mattress was delivered as promised. Greg followed up with a few phone calls to make sure that we were happy with our mattress purchase. He still reiterated that it would be no problem if we were not happy, because he and Tempurpedic were committed to making sure we were getting a good nights rest.
For us and our experience marking an important purchase, Hreg was great! He provided clear and concise answers to our questions. He gave the proās and conās of each of the choices we were faced with and he had reasonable solutions for every challenge that we presented-from the coil-less mattress that would be required, the cooling effect that we really wanted and a way to stretch the purchase out over time to make it more affordable.
Greg at the Winter Park Tempurpedic Store was, by far, the best salesperson that I have ever encountered.
When I am ready to replace the guest bedroom mattress, I will purchase another mattress from Greg. I know Tempurpedic mattress are expensive, but the quality of my sleep is very important to my wife and I. I have learned the hard way, that it is not wise to cheap out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe sales rep provided us a price with tax of $7200 for everything including the bed, adjustable base, delivery, taxes. We told him we appreciated the time but also wanted to check out the sleep number system before we decide. He was really nice and told us no problem.
We called back to the store to talk to the manager of the store who is the one that told us to be careful of the other type of bed, how they break and the bad warranty issues they have. So I called back to ask about the Tempurpedic warranty. He mentioned he has a friend that works for sleep number and told him info about how often the bed breaks and how you have to replace all the parts inside if something malfunctions as well as how that costs owners extra money. I told him he definitely made good points and asked for an updated price. I told him he has convinced me to go with Tempurpedic and we just need to work up a final price and deal. If I was satisfied with the price I could buy over the phone he said or come into the store. We went over three (3) times what model, type of bed and base we wanted. The manager verified everything to which I affirmed the order and he said he would call me back with his best price. He mentioned that there were some additional discounts that were not applied that he can input and would work up the final numbers and get back to me. About 10 minutes later he called me back with a price of $5500 for the order. I again verified the items and he said wait he had miscalculated an item as the wrong thing. I was hold for 2 minutes as he updated items and provided me a price of $6100. To which I again verified the deal we made and that the price for the items would be $6100 plus tax. The manager specifically told me that there were additional discounts he was able to apply and get down to that price. I agreed to the price and told him I would be over to do the paperwork as I donāt like doing charges blindly. We get to the store and finalize the financial paperwork. My wife and I added two pillows as they are having a buy one get one deal. I ask for the final amount as they are about to charge the account as they had not provided one yet with the total with pillows and tax. I am given a total of $8500. To which I asked how we went from $6100 to $8500 by the addition of two pillows. The sales rep goes back over the order and the manager tells him he has his total wrong as he had given me a price of $6100. The pillow was $189 and the second should have been free based on the sale they had. The store manager then goes to get the pricing sheet he used to give us the price we made a deal on over the phone and show the sales rep that his price is off. They talk for a second and give us an excuse of something to do with how it is calculated since it is a split king bed. Which again I verified with the manager over the phone both times as we worked up the deal and he confirmed he had everything right, etc.
The price difference doesnāt make sense even with the original price provided by the sales rep earlier in the day where the sales rep quoted $7200. Which we have in his handwriting written down. With a $200 pillow at worst that would have been $7400.
Either way the biggest issue was no apology or effort to honor the pricing provided or make it right. But rather the manager just looked at us and said āwell we know you have been shopping around from our competitor so you know where to go. I donāt need to give you directions.ā This is literally the quote of the store manager to acknowledge the mistake. No action to make it right or apologize. Be careful of their pricing structures and information. It seems it all fluctuates, they donāt honor pricing they provide you (even the same day), and what you are quoted will change no matter what. Read all the paperwork and ask for totals along the way. Really bad business practices bordering on predatory sales techniques. Also keep in mind they do not keep their word or honor prices....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped in at my local TempurPedic Flagship store and was greeted by Juan and Bri. Iād been having issues with my neck and back. These would go away after I was up for awhile. So I figured the pain came from sleeping on a mattress not suited to me. Juan spent over an hour with us, explaining the different qualities of several mattresses. He put down gauzy sheets on various mattresses and pillows so we could try them out. We tried the Luxe Adapt Firm, the Pro Adapt Firm, Pro Adapt Medium, and Medium Hybrid, and briefly, a mattress in the Breeze line. We had previously tried out a TempurPedic mattress in a furniture store and none of these models felt like that one. Juan gave us a catalog with mattress models and prices to take home. He was very low key, but very friendly and helpful throughout. He never pushed but instructed instead and seemed to let the product sell itself. A few days later I visited the store again by myself. Again, Juan greeted me warmly. This time I knew the mattress Iād tried in the furniture store was an Adapt Hybrid. Again, I tried various mattresses with the gauze sheets under me. By this time I was totally confused. I picked a favorite, knowing my spouse could come back later to give his opinion. I also knew by then about the 90 night trial where you can exchange a mattress for a different style and if youāre still not satisfied, get a full refund. By then we had spent so much time with Juan that my husband and I agreed to return together only if Juan was there. Finally, on this 3rd visit we decided on the Pro Adapt soft. Itās not as plush as the Luxe Adapt soft, but that model was too soft for my husband. By this time Juan knew our preferred sleep positions and when I asked him about a pillow for side sleepers he handed me a Symphony model to try. It was heaven immediately. Itāll be a week or so before we get the mattress. But last night I slept on that Symphony pillow and I feel like singing. For the first time in months I woke without neck pain. This, after buying at least six pillows of various types over the past two years. Iām hoping our new mattress will be as great a fit. But if itās not, weāll take up TempurPedic exchange/ refund policy. Thank you Juan for...
