We are new to the world of wine, but we had a great tour experience for our first time at Delilles that I decided to sign up as a club member. Overall my tasting room experiences has been pleasant. We have done the tasting room experience more than 10 times now, and have brought numerous friends and families for the experience. All the staff are fairly kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. We love that they have tasty food and that it is kid friendly. You have the options of indoor or outdoor seating, and the ambience for both are wonderful. We have only tried a few other wine tasting places and so far this has been the best. I will say your experience is very dependent on the host you get for your tasting, we have had a few that were very cheap with their tasting pours I mean extremely little, and less generous or social for our experience however I would say majority have been a great experience. After coming in over 10 times we experienced a new host named Christina, she was the best we have had, not only was she knowledgeable, kind and generous she was the only one that offered tastings of wine outside the tasting menu which I didn’t know was there or even an option, we got to explore new wine and bought a couple of new bottles home. I do recommend other wine hosts also offer this as a experience because that was fantastic. She also offered side by side tastings when we couldn’t remember or had trouble comparing which was wonderful. Definitely give them a try if you...
Read moreI recently visited DeLille, excited to experience one of the region’s reputed tasting rooms. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met due to several service issues that marred the visit.
Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, but our server seemed inexperienced. Throughout our visit, our water glasses remained empty, which was disappointing given the supposed caliber of the establishment. The server also took an unusual approach by withholding detailed wine notes unless specifically requested, which detracted from the guided tasting experience we had hoped for.
During the tasting, there were multiple instances where our glasses were left empty for extended periods, disrupting our enjoyment. Additionally, the server also attempted to pour the next tasting before we had finished the current one, which felt rushed and poorly paced.
As our booking approached its end, we felt increasingly rushed to finish. This was particularly frustrating as my sister was thoroughly enjoying her current glass. While I understand the necessity of adhering to time limits, the staff's approach lacked finesse and consideration for our experience.
Overall, while the setting and ambiance were pleasant, the service fell short of expectations for a venue of this reputation. Improvements in attentiveness, and pacing are necessary to ensure that guests receive the full enjoyment and value from...
Read moreService is good. Ambiance is good. Wines… meh. The wine maker clearly has a nose for florals and pepper. Very little difference between the reds in my opinion. They have a “wait list” for their wine club. That’s just silly. Complete gimmick. We used to live just outside Napa and have been to dozens of wineries, and Never had we been told there was a wait to get into a wine club. The only reason why there would be a wait is they do t have the staff to fill orders (unlikely) or they don’t have enough product. Which if they didn’t have enough product then the tasting room wouldn’t be open because they would be filling the two month backlog of member orders. Again, it’s a gimmick. Trying to convince people there’s a demand when there isn’t any. This was actually our second visit. We thought more highly the first time, and had considered a membership. I’m glad we came back a second time because I would have been disappointed if I had committed to buying multiple bottles from them. Wine is a very personal taste Situation, so I’m sure lots of people probably enjoy their wines, but none of my group liked any of their offerings. And the wait list for the club was just silly. Honestly, if they would have let us sign up the first time when we had a bit of a buzz already they would have had us. But since they forced us to wait it was an...
