Sofias Antojitos — Restaurant in Woodland Park

Delicious Mexico style Birria seasoned menu options. Same restaurant as the 2 locations down in the Springs but tucked away in a convenient location in Woodland Park near City Market. The location had two previous restaurants that didn't make it due to being very small. Since then they've expanded the indoor footprint and added some patio seating with views of Pike's Peak. Expect ordering at the counter and delivery of your plates to your table. Food delivery was very fast from the time we ordered to the point it was delivered.

Beer options are available. Husband had the Birria Burrito especial and I had the beef tostada's. Entrees were seasoned for flavor and came with sides of spicy sauces to dial up the flavor. Chips were fresh from the dryer, salsa was a good volume of heat from the spice. Queso was also pretty good. While this style of Mexican food is different than what we generally prefer in Texas, it's very delicious and a nice change from TexMex. Hope these guys are able to stick around...

Happy to have a Mexican food place in the area that has affordable prices and a la carte! The staff are very nice and accommodating. The food is good, not great. But I haven't tried everything. We'll see. Also, the food is not consistent. One time, the tacos were on soft shell corn tortillas and fell apart, the next time, they were in crispy corn, not the box kind, and were much better. Suggest 1. Provide paper menus or post online, so that people don't have to study them in line and hold up the line. 2. People are standing in line to order and sometimes the line is out the door, holding the door open. (Congrats!) BUT you need to figure out what you're going to do when it gets 40 degrees outside and it's snowing! Your heat and people will "go out the door"! I wish you luck and hope...

After ordering and paying at the counter for our food and after waiting an hour for our food, during which time 3 different people asked us at our table what did we order???, we finally had to tell them we had to leave and to please simply provide us a refund. The only reason we are posting this is that we want the owner to know what happened. What is hard to believe is that when we received the refund, the manager did not have the decency to comp/refund the one beer my husband had. He should have graciously comped the one beer for the poor service we received and the fact we did not receive our food. To the owner...we will keep our receipts to visit with you...
