First review I ever left on an eating establishment so this should tell you how ticked off I am. I was just there on Sunday, 11:00am 8/20/2024 and waited in line for probably 5 minutes patiently while 4 employees behind the counter were there and acted like I was invisible. I was the ONLY one in line. No acknowledgment of I’ll be right with you, nothing. Fine, I can deal with that. 5 long minutes later, two women walked in after I did were acknowledge and the young girl employee goes to take their order. Fine, workers are obvious oblivious to the only other person in line (Me) , I can still deal with that. But then I said, “can you wait on me first? I’ve been here five minutes before these people actually walked in?” The girl had the freaking nerve to say “ No, I’m going to wait on them first.” Are you kidding me?!? I said forget it I’m leaving. How degrading and embarrassing. The best part is , the 2 women in line actually begged me to go ahead and have my order taken first while the employee didn’t say a word. I know your staff is young but the attitude is such a turn off. I don’t know if these women were regulars or what but that was the probably the worst service of my life. I’ve probably been there a dozen or more times and always get their pop tarts and my wife gets one of their sandwiches. The food is awesome, I give them that, but Ill never be back after today due to neglectful , aloof and rude staff. Here’s a few tips for the owner/staff.
If you’re busy (and they werent even that busy) acknowledge everyone who comes in the door even with a “hi, welcome to Leo’s cafe. We’ll be right with you.
Try to pay attention to who’s in line. This isn’t that hard. One guy at the counter, 2 new people walk in MINUTES later and you still don’t know who was first? You only had two options at the time. Cmon.
Lastly, you wait on who was in your store first and NEVER , EVER argue with a customer AND ESPECIALLY when you’re wrong.
It sucks because they do have pretty good food but guess what? So does a million other places in Colorado. As a matter of fact, there’s a donut place right next door I’ve never been to because I spent my money at Leo’s. I’ll never recommend anyone there because of the snotty, neglectful, staff. The other times it’s not ever been great, amazing or even really that good of service and I didn’t care. I don’t need special attention but today was frankly unbelievable.
PS. If you try deleting this review, I’ll keep posting it. Worst interaction at food establishment of my life. What’s your excuse, Cafe Leo? The girl (employee) knew I was line first, the two patrons acknowledged I was in line first and the employee said , verbatim, “No, I’m going to help them first.” Really!?! After reading some of the reviews on here about the staff, it might be time for some...

Read moreOur experience just doesn't jive with extremely high reviews, which made it seem like a can't-miss place for lunch. They were out of burritos, tomatoes, and avocados when we were there, 4.5 hours before close (this is more than half the savory menu). They didn't say "sorry about that" but just said "Yeah, it was a crazy morning." I asked for lettuce instead so we had some vegetables, they said sure but forgot that. I hadn't complained about any of this, just went with it, and had already left a tip. We ate outside, it is OK but a few tables in a strip mall by a busy road. Bagels were good, if expensive for sparse toppings, and coffee was decent. I asked if they did coffee refills on my way out, they do with another couple bucks upcharge. I asked if they could just do one on account of having been out of everything, but "Sorry, that's our policy." In contrast, I had gone to Coffee Cottage the previous day to get coffee and work for an hour on wifi, the patio was nicer, the people were nicer, the coffee was better and includes refills (they also use ceramic cups) and still had good pastries. I'm just warning you there's not a strong focus on customer service and they may be out of things -- it seems like the high reviews are based on mostly on tourists ordering dessert...
