I went to Serrano’s for the first time! My husband and I are absolutely astonished at the delicious food served at this restaurant.
We are Mexican food fans, so I’m surprised that we haven’t tried it before, now. I ordered a few items for take out.
The server was very nice. The restaurant was clean. The atmosphere was relaxed.
All of that pales in comparison to the food. We ate nachos that were not your normal slapped together fare. It was layer upon layer of cheese, meat, guacamole, sour cream, beans, and pico de gallo on tortilla chips.
When we finished, we were so full that we were only able to taste the churros and fried ice cream. Everything else, we saved for the next days.
The churros and fried ice cream were simply mouthwatering. Definitely top notch desserts.
The next day, we shared a ground beef chimichanga which was very good.
Then we ate the final item, a Pueblo Burrito filled with fajita chicken and topped with green chili. My husband’s comment was “I could eat this, every day”. This burrito was magnificent. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars without the burrito, with the burrito, I wish I could add another star.
We, also, had the Chile Con Queso. It was great, but too spicy for me.
Not only, will we be going back many, many times, but I highly suggest that you go, too.
Do yourself a favor, get some for tomorrow, you will not...
Read moreWORSE EXPERIENCE of my life!!! We were a party of 12 that had to share 3 salsas between us all. The food was okay not worth the price, we only seen our waitress twice the time she ordered/delivered our drinks until at the end of our dinner. We asked for our ticket and the owner proceeds to advise us he can't split our tickets, then states he can only split it 6 ways which was great because there were only 6 tickets, we tell him to split it up and he says he can't. He proceeded to argue with us and said he would do it individually as some of us have cash some had card. He overcharged the first person and says he is sorry he is adding it all in his head!!! At this point we were all frustrated because he kept contradicting himself saying he could then couldn't split the tickets up then the waitress comes out pointing her finger saying she is calling the cops because we refused to pay. None of us refused to pay. We would have understood at the very beginning if we were advised that he could not split the checks, we could have made a decision to either stay, go some where else or go get cash!!! One person ended up paying our $300 and we left. It was very unprofessional that they did not disclose in the beginning that they couldn't or DIDNT WANT to split the checks!!! DO...
Read moreFood poisoning, twice, and a surly manager. I went here once a few months ago, and got violently ill after having the enchiladas. I swore I'd avoid it, but a friend wanted to meet there, and so I figured I'd roll the dice. I avoided the enchiladas, opting for a fajita. While I didn't get quite as sick, it was still an unpleasant experience. I'm not sure if they undercook their meat or cross contaminate in the kitchen, but it seems there's something amiss.
I spoke with the relatively young woman who was there on a different night, mostly to warn her about the problem. She said she was the manager, but I'm guessing she's a relative of the owner, because she showed very little actual acumen. When I attempted to politely explain the situation, mostly to warn her about potential issues, she exploded at me. I was literally trying to help as kindly as I could that it seems there was a health code risk and she erupted, saying I was spreading rumors and wasn't welcome there anymore. As if I planned on having my guts mauled for a third time!
I have no clue what is wrong with either the conditions or the hiring practices of this restaurant, but either way it's...
