HONEST POST - MANAGEMENT MUST BE ABLE TO TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISIM.
Like a lot of folks, I found this place via The Black Foodies. That 1 minute clip made the restaurant look amazing.
I went on Friday, 8/22/25. It was packed. I thought, wow this place must be good for folks to line up like this. Got a table. Took about 10 minutes for the waitress to bring us menus but that's okay. I can't remember her name but she was very helpful. We ordered within 15 minutes of sitting down at the table. Some of our order consisted of smoked wings, hamburger, turkey burger - basic food.
We ordered drinks. This came out fast so kudos to the bar. Our waitress even brought out the receipt and stated we need to pay. I thought this was strange since we didn't get the food - but we paid anyway.
30 minutes - nothing. 45 minutes - nothing. 1 hour - nothing. 1 1/2 hours - now this is just plain wrong. By this time, we don't want to play any games and we just want our food.
I decide to speak directly to the manager. I walked up to him (with respect) and told him we were waiting for 90 minutes for our food and nothing has came out. He politely apologized and stated he would buy us shots. I declined and said "we don't want shots, we want food". He apologized again and gave the back story of the restaurant staff (in which i appreciated).
He stated it's a community based restaurant that employs young folks/teenagers for the kitchen. I shut down after that. I thought to myself - "why have inexperienced folks on a busy night like tonight and as management, you not take charge of it and at least bring out some of the food". I thanked him for his time and I turned around, went back to my table and advised them what was said so we can go somewhere else. Needless to say, there weren't as kind as me.
They went to speak with him again - and basically he admitted our food wasn't made yet. As they were talking to him, I realized that others were complaining in the restaurant. They reimbursed our money promptly.
Not acceptable. I will never patronize this restaurant again. Hopefully adjustments will be made so...
Read moreI was invited to Evergreen Social for a family member’s birthday dinner. It was our first time at the restaurant. I arrived later. Appetizers had been delivered: Dip Trio and Meatball Lollipops. Both were very good. I particularly appreciated the soft texture of the meatballs. Dinners came out as they were ready, not all at once, and received mixed reviews. The first was the steak-topped fries. She enjoyed the steak but reported the fries were salty. Next were the shrimp and grits and chicken on rice. She ordered it with no pork. She liked it and finished most of it, although her sister said the grits needed salt. My cousin enjoyed his chicken but reported the rice was not properly cooked. My daughter only wanted the truffle fries, which were well-seasoned and crispy, but she didn’t care for the truffle aioli. I also ordered the shrimp and grits but with the gravy on the side, concerned for the spice level. The waitress spoke with the chef and confirmed that wasn’t a problem. My shrimp and grits came out looking very appetizing. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and nothing was too spicy. We played a few rounds of Jinga before requesting the bill. A few adult beverages had been ordered. There was a major discrepancy regarding a specialty whiskey ordered before I arrived. A couple heard the waitress say $30 but the bill reflected $90. We brought it to the waitress’ attention but she insisted she said $90. My cousin didn’t want to challenge it. We paid the bill but that put a damper on the experience. Overall, we agreed we were glad to have tried Evergreen Social. I appreciated the chef’s flexibility, adapting to the customer’s needs, given the...
Read moreWent on a Saturday night. I know restaurants can be busy around that time, but they should have staff and or cooks ready and prepared or extra help for that matter. Trying to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We went and sat for an hour while the ice in our drinks melted. They didn’t have what my wife wanted the steak and fries. She proceeded to order something else and we sat and sat. The final straw was watching a table of four receive their appetizers and dinner before us. Why does nothing come out in order of priority depending on how long someone has been there. If they had appetizers they can wait a little longer for their food while someone who hadn’t eaten in an hour gets fed. They could have even brought our food out separately. I watched someone else get the exact same meal I ordered. So we proceeded to get up and leave no one tried to stop us or apologize. We went yo chili’s and got seated and fed in fifteen minutes. Plus this place is very small. Seating is super tight you can reach out and touch someone at the next table. The waitress can knock over your drink. People all in your conversations. Also they have paper...
