Today was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever encountered; today was a very busy day, for them but there was an altercation between the workers and a customer.
The customer was beyond upset because she had been waiting for a very long time to get a smoothie, about an hour, and myself about 35-40 minutes. The young lady was very upset because people who had came in after us, where getting their smoothies before her, me and a few others. She requested a refund and the manger, who I believe was the one with glasses, tried to explain to her that it would take time; she was not having it and wanted either her smoothie now or give he the money. He was trying to explain to her, but she was far from reassuring and trying to pamper her.
At this point, one of the employees started to argue with the customer and that set her off; she began to use more vulgarity and profanity and so did the young man. They began to argue back and forth with one another until another employee intervened, BUT THEN HE BEGAN TO USE PROFANITY, in front of the customers. While I’m standing in the middle, between the crossfire, I noticed 4 customers walked in and immediately walked back out…. that was half of your day’s revenue gone due to the unprofessionalism of the employees.
I understand that their frustrated and backed up on orders, while the young lady was not helping the situation. If anything, she added more fuel to the flame; but the young man who chose to argue back with her, was completely out of hand and needs to be addressed…. I’m a manger myself and been in customer service for a long time, that was not right and he needs to be either written up, sent home without a pay or terminated because his smart mouth & attitude just cost you 5 customers to leave. That’s revenue you’ve lost because of, actually, all of the employees actions.
Yes, we’re human and we’re not perfect; we make mistakes, but she and the employees were in the wrong, but the employees that thought it was okay to use profanity in-front of 10-15 people, was not a smart move. With all the commotion going on, I had lost my appetite and asked the gentleman for a refund; I don’t care if I did loose $8, but the way the employees acted, I’d probably won’t return to that location for a while. If I have to drive to the new location on ridgeland Ave, I will, but as far as this one…. No, I won’t return because the actions of the employees were unprofessional, uncalled for and if that’s how they’re acting, I won’t be spending my hard earned money there...
Read moreThis is my second time within a week at this location and Wednesday was a GREAT EXPERIENCE. It was the afternoon shift. I went tonight and the cashier, my recepit says employee name is Dante. He was sooooo RUDE, yelling, argumentive, with terrible customer service. He doesn't need to work with the public AT ALL. He refused to answer questions regarding upsizing, no greeting stood there and just looked at me and another customer like we were supposed to wait on ourselves. They lied and said they were about to close soon when it literally wasn't even 8pm yet and the store doesn't close until 9pm. They had already started breaking the store down. When the other team member asked us what happened, the cashier stopped serving a 3rd customer to yell down the counter at me and the 2nd customer about how tired he was and we were mad he didn't give us energy. Being tired isn't an excuse to be rude to paying customers who literally didn't come off as rude. The floor had been mopped already and it smelt terrible, literally smelt like mop water, I almost didn't purchase anything at first because of that factor alone.
I see other reviews about a male employee arguing with other customers and if it's the same employee, the store manager or regional manager needs to investigate the hiring manager. This type of person is not fit to represent smoothie king, it gives the business a...

I have come to this smoothie king FAITHFULLY for years and I have never had a bad visit. My impression of the staff is that they work hard and value customer service (at least for these two gentlemen David & Alonte). The assistant manager David knows us by name- not just me, but customer base at this location. He remembers orders. He is CONSISTENTLY kind and respectful and deserves a raise or something! I've seen him deal with impatient customers, a full store and only him on the line, multitasking with training staff while doing backend work and still never has he had a coarse disposition. Alonte is also very respectful and polite. He works diligently as I've seen him juggling multiple tasks at once without fail all the time.
See about going the extra mile for your employees because they go above and beyond for us.
Very sincerely,
Britt
