Today I visited this location to return an item purchased online. Michaels website noted online purchases can be returned in store. The item was an acrylic art supply that arrived damaged.
The store associate (Naomi) waiting on me stated she couldn't complete the return despite my online receipt because there was no bar code. Naomi (short AA girl w/braids) requested assistance from the manager a darker complexion African American girl with titanic sized baby hairs.
The manager presented herself as unintelligent. I explained what their website stated about returning online purchases. The manager immediately had attitude and insisted I had to return the item by shipping it back because they do not carry the item in store. I reiterated this wasn't their return policy as noted on their website. I added that I should not have to travel to a different location to take care of this.
I asked the manager if they could call customer service for further assistance. Also, because I had a similar issue at this same store location about 1 year ago where all they needed to do was contact customer service. The unintelligent and unprofessional nanager insisted she was correct and didn't want to call customer service. The unintelligent and unprofessional manager also mumbled under voice, rolled her eyes, and walked away but did eventually tell Naomi to call customer service. Naomi called and gave ME the store phone to speak with customer service. Really, staff should have taken the lead with this.
As expected, customer service confirmed that I was correct. Customer service assisted Naomi with the return and I received a refund to my card.
While I was on their phone with customer service I made a complaint about my experience. I asked Naomi for the mangers name. Naomi said she was told not to share the names of her co-workers. In general this could be understandable but in this situation ...this sounds wrong because since when can staff not say who the manger is.
The manager is a African American darker complexion girl who had enormous baby hairs plastered on both sides of her forehead and a ponytail. I believe if the manager removes those gigantic baby hairs that are shielding her from intelligence....common sense and professionalism might get through to her brain.
I do plan to follow-up regarding my complaint. Clearly the manager and staff need more training and education among...
Read moreAs much as I love shopping at my neighborhood Michael’s, I may never return to this location due to my horrible experience with the framing department. As a collector, in the past I’ve gotten simple framework here and loved displaying the pieces in my home. This experience started off rough to begin with, during my consultation the framing manager was not very enthusiastic even when I asked his “professional” opinion, ended up picking my frame and mat myself with little to no help. Gave him my desired measurements and even the preview that was shown to me was horrible but I trusted the numbers that were given. Over two weeks pass and I don’t hear from the store, when I call they assure me that my piece is ready. The measurements were completely off, covering the signature and numbering of my print, the young lady at the counter apologized and let me know there would be another week delay to order the new mat. She also expressed to me that my piece was the third to be returned due to the framing managers mistakes. A week later, they call me for the pick up…the mat is completely botched in the lower right corner and had other imperfections (the mat was not ordered and was cut in store). I ask the framing manager if this can be fixed and he asked me wait a few minutes then an hour because he had things to do. We go back and forth due to existing inconvenience that I’ve been to the location multiple times. At this point I’m extremely frustrated, mangers Terry and Michael however were very helpful in trying to keep my business. In the end, I wanted a full refund to take my piece to a trustworthy and professional frame shop where framing is done with care...
Read moreI only visited this store one time looking for fabrics. I walked around for a while looking for something such as a sign to direct me to it, but I had to walk back to the front to ask the cashier "where's the fabrics?" She pointed to a direction where I found myself walking around again lost. I finally found someone who directed me to an aisle number that I hadn't noticed because I was looking for name signs. Anyway, I found the fabrics (which aren't many) then I was checked out by a friendly cashier. I'm not too familiar with craft, but they seem to carried a nice variety of crafty stuff. I did expect more and I thought the store would be a little bigger (I don't know why). I wished they had more fabrics and more length, but my overall experience was ok. Oh, and I did get a discount because a nice customer gave me their coupon they had no use for. I can see myself going back maybe for other stuff. I can't give 4 stars because I thought it was okay which is 3 stars. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars if it...
