Very poor service and food service was rushed. My husbands first time going to Smashburger and bought him and I two burgers and smashburger fries and me sweet potato fries. When he arrived to my job, he pulled out a quarter filled container of sweet potato fries, my classic burger, and his fries. His bacon burger was not in the bag, so he said "Well at least I got fries." Told me to taste one, and I thought they were greasy and passed. He ate his fries and then got disgusted with a puddle of grease and old burnt pieces he seen at the bottom of the container.
We called that same night and spoke to a gentleman that was very apologetic and said for use to call the next day and they would help us. The next day my husband went there to get his refund and the young lady at the register was so rude to my husband and told him there isn't a manager there and she don't know when they'll be back. She was high and had a slurred response, but still managed to be rude as heck. I called there an hour later and a girl got on the phone and she was very rude to me and said that the manager still isn't there and she doesn't know when she'll be back. I'm not sure if this was the same woman.
Called back the third day and spoke to a day shift manager and she seemed more helpful, but told me to call back after 5pm to now speak to the general manager. Called back at 6pm to speak to Jessica, the GM, and she wouldn't let me explain the issue and cut me off to offer me the same order. Mind you my husband was sick after eating those greasy fries. Ummm no! We never want to eat at Smashburgers ever again. Just give us our $35 refund for the garbage food and service you have given us.
Soooooo, now Jessica the GM is telling us to call back tomorrow, 4th day, so she can ask her district manager if they could refund us.
This experience has been exhausting and a waste of time, but these corporations are not going to charge me $35 for garbage service and food. Show accountability for your staff and food. $35 is a lot of money for two burger and fries just to get a container of old grease and one burger.
Do better!
And they are not allowing to post pics on...
Read moreI ordered the Double Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger with extra mushrooms and pickles and red onion on the side. The burger was so dry I had to drink a mouth full of water with every bite. It was so bland that I really think cardboard would have more taste. The patties were a regular size though, but significantly overcooked - a few more minutes and they would have been hockey pucks. The bun certainly was not fresh, and it was very chewy too - it felt like I had to rip it apart to bite into it, which I found quite odd and really not pleasant. I'd of liked to have reviewed the Swiss cheese, but there was no Swiss cheese at - and I couldn't find any truffle mayo either (even though this too was ordered). There were around 3 mushrooms pieces, despite the fact that I ordered double, which had cost me an additional $2.09! There was one slice of pickle and a scant few pieces of red onion - but these were on my burger instead of being on the side as I had asked. I guess Smashburger insists you'll have your food their way! My burger and fries were quite simply the absolute worst I have ever had in my 56 years on this earth. I never thought a burger could be terrible, but Smashburger has certainly achieved this. The Smashfries were okay; a bit limp from the grease though, and while the rosemary came through quite powerfully, the garlic flavor and olive oil flavors were nonexistent. In conclusion, this restaurant is a 'one and done' for me - I won't be going to any of them a second time, and I absolutely cannot recommend them either. Their food isn't exactly inexpensive, and because of the poor quality I feel as though I was being scammed. My advice? Burger King and Wendy's are significantly better - so go to one of them; don't waste your time...
Read moreA Regrettable Experience at Smashburger Oak Lawn
My recent outing to Smashburger in Oak Lawn has left me compelled to share a rather disheartening experience. Unlike my routine visits, this particular occasion was marred by a series of disappointments that significantly deviated from the standard I've come to expect, particularly when contrasting it with my usual haunt at the Orland Park location.
To begin, I was taken aback when I was informed that the wings I ordered would require an unexpectedly lengthy 25-minute wait. This was in stark contrast to the prompt 10 to 15-minute service I'm accustomed to at the Orland Park venue. The lack of a clear explanation for this delay left me questioning the consistency in service between locations.
Adding to the letdown, the burger I eagerly anticipated indulging in had a distinctly altered taste that deviated from the flavors I've grown to love. It's always disheartening when a familiar and cherished dish loses its essence, and this experience left me questioning the culinary integrity at this particular Smashburger establishment.
However, the pinnacle of discomfort during this visit occurred when I ventured into the restroom only to find an absence of toilet paper. This is an essential amenity that should never be overlooked in a restaurant setting, and the embarrassment of such a situation is something I've never encountered before.
I sincerely hope that the management of Smashburger in Oak Lawn addresses these issues promptly to restore confidence in the establishment's commitment to quality and service. As a long-time patron, this visit has regrettably left me contemplating whether to continue frequenting the Oak...
