Last week, I ordered 6 dozen cupcakes (choc and vanilla) and 1 mini cake for a special 90th birthday celebration. This was my first time using this bakery, but the pictures and reviews featured online were convincing enough to give them a try. I communicated my order via email, phone, text, and in-person, including a photo of the party invitation, anticipated pick up time, photos for the flower designs I wanted, and expectations for the mini cake to have the same flower decorations as the cupcakes. I stressed the desire to keep the design elegant and classy, as this was for my 90yr old grandmother. After changing icing colors and the filling for the mini cake, the order was finalized 6 days before the event. I was only charged a bit more for "premium" designs, but was satisfied with the ordering process overall. I paid for half of the order 1 week prior to pick up.
Yesterday, I arrived at the bakery 20 min after my designated pick up time. I was told my order wasn't ready due to the bakery not having a pick up time on their written order, but it would be completed within 30 min. The celebration was starting in 90 min, but at least we were only blocks away. I paid the remaining balance and ran a last minute errand while I waited.
When I returned for pick up, it was evident that my order was very rushed. There were no flower designs on either the cupcakes or mini cake. The icing didn't cover the cupcakes. 4 of the 6 dozen cupcakes had similar colors; the other 2 dozen had "squiggles" of different icing colors. The mini cake was covered in a splatter design, (reminiscent of the intro to the TV show, In Living Color) nothing similar to either of the cupcake "designs."
Though the taste was good and the cupcakes were fresh, I was disappointed in the presentation. I could've created the same cupcake designs with squiggle and star piping tips, but came to the bakery because of the craftsmanship displayed on the website. I'm uncertain where the miscommunication happened, but it changed the entire look of my desserts. I recommend this bakery for everyday goods, but would choose differently for...
Read moreSo disappointed. I ordered a cake and a smash cake for my daughter’s first birthday a month in advance and provided a few photos and an explanation of what I wanted. I specifically said I wanted a light pink cake and simple flower and strawberry design and provided a few photos which I specified what I liked about each. I indicated I wanted to pick up at 10am and was told that wouldn’t be a problem. Since the bakery is about 15 minute drive from my house, I called before I left and was asked if I could come at 11 instead because the baker was behind on a big cupcake order. I showed up at 11:20am and was told that they needed another 30 minutes but not to worry since the baker was fast with design. I had to go home to finish getting ready for the party and sent my husband back an hour later to pick up the cakes. When I saw the cakes, I was so disappointed. The color was a bright pink, the happy birthday on top was not centered and sloppy, and the strawberry and flower designs were sloppy. It was obvious it was rushed. And There was also a huge crack in the middle of the cake. Be aware, the photos on their instagram of the designs they are capable of are misleading. At least the cake tasted good but I will never go back here. Thanks a lot for adding stress and disappointment to an already...
Read moreI have been going to this bakery for over a year now. If you go in be sure to try their custard or raspberry paczki. A year ago they made me an awesome cake for my 30th birthday party. All the adult guests loved it! The cake had some brandy in it so the owner made beautiful big cupcakes for my nieces and nephews. The kids loved that they each had their own "mini-cake" and they devoured them.
The pastries and cakes are always delicious and fresh. I find my self going there lot to purchase an after dinner coffee cake.
I have always received a warm welcome, especially from the blonde Polish lady... I think she she is the owner.
Highly...
