We had an unbelievable experience at McDonald’s today. I am a frequent visitor of this specific McDonalds during their breakfast hours because I work not too far from the building and I have always had very good experiences during my visits. But this experience makes me never want to go back. Today my husband and I stopped today around 2:30 pm at this location to grab some mcchickens, McDoubles, a couple cheeseburgers, and a medium fry because we had our friends over and wanted to buy them lunch. We ordered 8 mcchickens and were only given 5. We hadn’t even moved past the pickup window when we noticed we were shorted, so my husband waved at the guy behind the window to get their attention. We explained to the man behind the window (not sure what his name is but he was a thin African American, maybe late teens early 20s) and told him what the issue was. We handed him the two bags back and asked him to please recount them himself, because he said he “counted them himself and doesn’t know what we did with them”. We explained that we hadn’t even left the spot and there had been less than a minute delay of when we got the food and when we got their attention to let them know we didn’t have our entire order. He took our bags back inside and I believe counted them and then told us that he knows that he gave us all of the chickens and essentially we weren’t going to get the missing mcchickens that we had paid for.
He then got his manager, Samuel, who came right over to the window and immediately said that he was the one who made them and counted them and he doesn’t know what we did with them either. We offered for them to check the cameras or check our car, as we hadn’t left the window and there’s no way we could have possibly smashed three or four sandwiches in that minute window we took to count what was in our bags. The manager was extremely rude, which only made matters worse. He said “whatever” and slammed the window shut so we had to go inside. After all of this, he ended up making three sandwiches and sliding the bag across the counter at my husband after refusing to let us speak with someone who was above him to see if we could find a resolution.
I hate to sound like a Karen, but when we politely tell the crew there that we were missing food and they immediately try to make us feel like it was our fault that they miscounted, it’s not a great feeling. I would have understood the hesitancy to believe us if we had left the building and came back later to say that, but we didn’t.
Please do better and don’t be afraid to swallow your pride and admit you did something wrong to that you can correct it instead of making your customers feel like they did something wrong when it...
Read moreI used their mobile app for the first time because I saw a poster inside their business a few days earlier that if I placed an order through the mobile app the following week at their location only I would receive an order of 10 chicken mcnuggets.
I used the app to place my order during the ordering process it said that the location was not open or accepting mobile orders that I can still choose that location if wanted to which I did.
After I paid for it with my debt card something wasn't working properly. I called the restaurant and they said that they were open and that they were accepting mobile app orders.
I asked about the free 10 piece chicken mcnuggets with my order she didn't have a clue of what I was talking about because she said that there was NO promotions of that kind going on. When I mentioned the poster in their business she said oh that's if you order it through dash or uber eats.
Upon my arrival a couple of minutes later they did not have my mobile order that I placed. The lady seemed not to be concern about it at first. I showed her my phone and it showed that I placed an order but for some reason or another it did not completely get processed to them because even though I was able to order and used my payment method it would not give me a confirmation number. She even tried it on my phone and even though the order appeared in the basket it would not get processed. After a few minutes she finally took my order and I paid for it.
I did see the poster again inside their business about the free 10 piece chicken mcnuggets being offered at their location through the mobile app very thoroughly and at NO time anywhere on the poster say that if you have your order delivered you can receive the free 10 piece chicken mcnuggets. It clearly and definitely said that you will receive the free offer through the mobile app only at their location which I tried doing but apparently it was not working properly.

Read moreMy daughter wanted a frappe before school so I stopped here. They asked for her code first so I gave it to them and then they went on to say 'oh we can't do frappes today". I checked to see if I could use a different code and of course the app won't let me. I told the worker that and asked can I get a (cheaper btw) Iced coffee instead since it took my code. She consults with the manager I assume, and tells me "no, they can't do that due to price difference and the points will return to the app". Out of frustration I drove off and decided to go to the MCD by my daughter's school instead and long behold, those points did not return to my daughter's app. I had to use my app to get her a frappe. I then called the Wyoming location and told her that her customer service could have been better. I know we can't control the app but what I feared would happen, happened and it could have been avoided had she just provided actual customer service (the customer service I learned when I was a manager at McDonald's) and replaced the frappe they couldn't give me with an iced coffee. I haven't been to McDonald's in so long this validates why, paired with how bad the food is for your health.
