A party of seven of us just showed up for dinner one night, and we were treated like royalty by Victor, a superb (and funny) waiter. There was no waiting for drinks, and it was amazing how quickly our food arrived. All of it was delicious. Even the smaller sized meals were loaded with their excellent food. Their clam chowder is the best! It was a great experience, and we look forward to going back to Captain Parker's Pub. I highly recommend it.
I finally got back to this restaurant about a year later. We came with several people from out of town, and I did not tell anyone that I knew some of the staff there. Therefore, the experience was not that great. Our waitress was prompt when we initially sat down, but once we started to eat she disappeared and never came back until we were done. A few things were needed that we could not get because we never saw the waitresses again during our meal. It is hard to get into and out of this restaurant if you’re in a wheelchair because you have to have somebody to hold the door and then you have to have at least two people to lift you up over the piece of wood that sticks up out of the bottom of the entrance. Also, there is only one parking spot for handicapped people, and so you probably will not be able to park anywhere near the front door if you are handicapped. The food prices have gone up and are just ridiculous. And the food here is not that great unless you get their delicious clam chowder and just plainly cooked seafood. For example, I ordered the fried clam strips, but they were covered with chopped tomatoes and sliced peppers for some reason . Needless to say that meant that they were no longer crispy and had to be dug out of the pile of tomatoes that were on top of them. I really would not recommend this restaurant anymore because of the prices, the lack of decent waitressing, and the...
Read moreWe come to the Cape yearly and always go to Captain Parker’s where we can usually count on a good meal. Last two times we visited we were outside and it was nice. We were just there Friday 9/13/24 and they were packed, only a 15 minute wait no big deal asked to eat inside. Well omg you could not hear yourself, way too loud along with us being at what I want to call a mini table basically watching the workers get drinks. Horrible table! Ordered appetizers calm chowder and mozzarella sticks ( both great) however, their marinara sauce was horrible ended up eating the sticks with no sauce. Husband ordered Fried clam strips and myself med well cheese burger with fries. Fried clams were hard absolutely horrible my husband said. I don’t do sea food which is why we like the fact they offer more than just sea food. Normally I get the grilled chicken unfortunately, it was no longer on the menu so I settled for a burger with fries. The burger arrived charcoal on the outside and sections of raw on the inside. The fries were homemade chips which were ok however, I place fries on my burger which in this case did not work. Unfortunately, for us a total failure for dinner would not recommend. Loved it when it was a quiet atmosphere fire place in the corner, friendly chatting wait service who could take time and chat with you. This new atmosphere is a...
Read moreMy mom and I have been dying to eat here, but have been met with a large line of people and little to no parking. So when we were able to get a table at this restaurant, we were excited to eat there.
The main dining area was nice and open and had a casual ambience met with gorgeous waterfront views. We salivated over our menu options and made several selections.
The chowder was very good, in my opinion. The seasoning was perfect and it did not, like so many other area chowders, taste primarily of cream.
We tried clams casino, which was tasty, and tuna poke wontons. Something about the wontons tasted like they'd been sitting openly in a fridge or freezer. They tasted freezer-burned.
My boyfriend ordered fish and chips because he had never tried a good, authentic preparation of them. He still hasn't.
The fish looked beautiful and the coating was nice and crisp. I tried a forkful because it just looked so heavenly. There was zero seasoning on the fish. I mean this had the flavor profile of water. It was bizarre.
Also, speaking of water, the fish tasted mushy and waterlogged, as was the case with the fish bites my mom ordered. She was grossed out and barely ate anything else, and this dinner was our gift to her.
All in all, we were fairly...
