This USED to be a good place to eat. I went there weekly for almost 5 years and brought home 20-30 dollars worth of food for my entire family's "Chinese Night." I had been so happy with their food and service that I even left a 50$ bill for a17$ meal after Christmas. Unfortunately, since their "Grand Re-Opening" the food has been less than exceptional and the service is the worst I have experienced in the York area. 4 or 5 times in the past 5 months they have not had the food that is listed on the menu available on the buffet and the wait time is atrocious. I started going less and less until my last visit when I waited 35 minutes for an item to be placed on the buffet. I asked several times and was assured that the food would be "ready in 5 minutes" each time. I had 2 containers of food and was waiting for my son's dish- while everything else was getting cold. On my 5th request I told them I was leaving if the food was not ready..it was not, so I left without my food. I waited for 2 months and decided to give them one last try because the family loves the food so much. When I went in, I was accosted and treated like a criminal because I had left without my food the last time with absolutely NO appreciation for the years I was a loyal customer. I explained once again why I had left but they were not interested in hearing my complaint.... Fair enough. By then I had filled my take out container with a few onion rings, which I took to the counter, paid my 1 dollar and told them to keep their food. I will NEVER return to that establishment, nor will any members of my family, or friends and colleagues. I urge everyone who wants to be treated with some semblance of respect to follow suit. Fortunately Noodles and Company just opened up within half a mile of my former favorite place to eat. However, just in case I wish to re-establish the Chinese food night tradition, can anyone recommend a good Chinese...
Read moreEDIT: After giving Imperial Gourmet another try a few years later, I have to say there has been massive improvement. I mean, there was enough improvement that I felt that I needed to come on here and change my rating from one star to five. Food is fresh, management is incredibly kind, overall always a good experience. Imperial Gourmet has once again become my go to place for great food--my belly is happy once again.
Food used to be great, but not it's rubbish. This used to be my go to place for carry out, but now I'm left DISAPPOINTED. The food selection stayed the same, yet there is a noticeable difference with this new management. It's a sad day for my belly, and worst of all, it's a damn loss to...
Read moreI would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. Food was terrible– it was all either dry, undercooked, or had no flavor. Extremely little selection, just one line of cold food, a little area for bad sushi that fell apart, an old fridge for store-bought cheesecake, and a dirty freezer for ice cream. Their wonton soup was terrible and the wontons themself were doughy and had little meat inside. The staff were lazy and just waited around and did nothing. My dad even started to sweat while he was eating but he didn't have anything hot or spicy. Food made us surprisingly full even though we had very little food which was strange. Definitely not going...
