I ordered breakfast for my boyfriend and I this morning from this Denny’s. I have been here multiple times in the past with no issues regarding my celiac disease. I put in a special request online for the bread to be changed out for a gluten free English muffin or no bread at all because I had an allergy. My boyfriend went in to pick it up a few minutes early just to make sure there was no bread or it was substituted. He goes in a is greeted by the host/server who was fantastic and quickly went to make sure that it handled properly. When she comes back out she lets him know that the GM would be out shortly. When Stacy the GM comes out she informs my boyfriend that they got rid of the gluten free muffins and told him she could give him a regular one instead, despite the specific instructions that it was an allergy. My boyfriend proceeded to tell her that it was an allergy and I couldn’t be exposed. She swiftly went back to the kitchen seeming annoyed. The server told my boyfriend that she already informed that it was an allergy before she came out and that she was sorry about the situation. Shortly thereafter my boyfriend witnesses the gm uncomfortably walk behind the server and whisper something nasty in her ear while pinning her between the station she was at in front of customers. The Gm brought out our food shortly thereafter and wished him a good day. We got all the way through our food and I got to my fruit. The first couple bites were good but as I got closer to the grapes, I started seeing grapes that looked off putting. I got to the third grape I attempted to eat and it looked to be full of mold. I felt sick to my stomach knowing I had been eating out of a moldy bowl of fruit. My boyfriend proceeded to go back to the restaurant and requested to speak to the Gm about her attitude that he witnessed and the moldy food in her restaurant. She did I appear to listen to anything he said and just wished him a good day. I am truly appalled by her behavior and her actions towards her employee that was being helpful. On top of everything she covered up moldy food and didn’t appear very remorseful. The staff was all great except for her. The only reason it’s one star is because of that...
Read moreThe food itself was better than expected- Western omelette was excellent. They didn't have Rye bread- which I guess every place doesn't, no biggie. I asked for cream and sugar for my coffee. I was brought cream- but no sugar. I'm not sure if it was on the table or not because I can go without if it's not available- so I didn't think to look. The table was wiped clean before we were seated- though I found it odd that with plenty of other open tables- and the fact that we told the hostess that we'd take a table or booth- we had to pause until this particular table was wiped to be seated. (?) Anyway- after drinks came, I checked my silverware- not out of any habit, but just because I fiddle with things. The fork was dirty. When our order was taken, I VERY politely mentioned that it had something on it and asked if she could please bring another. Well...she forgot it when she brought our food. I assumed that she would be right back with it- nope. Halfway through breakfast, she remembers. I ate the majority of my omelet with my spoon- because, I could have stolen another set of silverware off another table- but- by this time, there was a large family that had been seated about a foot from us and I didn't want to disturb any of them. It's not like I was attempting to eat soup with a fork- it was okay. The hashbrowns were extra crispy to the point that they were a little weird- otherwise...it was honestly better than I thought it would be. I ended up tipping less than I typically would have though- about 50% for excellent service. This time was about 3 bucks on a 21.00 bill...and I thought that was still a nice tip considering the lack...
Read moreWe have been to this Denny's probably 1-2 times per year, and it's usually hit-or-miss. Can be a good experience one time, and then we come back and its a train wreck. Our last visit was very much along the lines of the train wreck. It was a recent Sunday around 1pm, and we pulled in to see very few cars in the lot, so we thought we'd get right in. But upon entering the restaurant, there was a line up of about 10 groups just waiting to put their name in. I took a quick look around and the tables were all less than half full. They had plenty of seating, but no one was apparently in charge of seating new patrons. Wait staff walked by us all, and just stayed focus on their seated customers. We were all trying to get someone's attention, when the manager finally came to the front. She announced that she had been setting up tables for a group of 25 that had called ahead that they were coming, but were not here yet. She further explained that we would all be seated after the large group, so we should be prepared for a long wait as the kitchen will be busy with the large group's orders. Most of us understood her very clearly - "we have a large group and do not want all of you in the way". So most of us headed for the door and went elsewhere for lunch that day. I do not know what is going on with this location, but we've been there when it was much busier, and they took care of everyone & hustled to get it done. This particular Sunday, maybe they were short-staffed. Don't know. But I give them 2 stars for at least being honest with everyone. Better than lying to us, and then we end up sitting there hungry for an hour...
