Reserved a room that was labeled "Non Smoking". King bed with seating area. I walked into a room that smelled like a cigar lounge. It was also very warm out that day and the AC was not on so it was that much worse. Room's couch had cushions smashed and one was on the floor. I called down to the front desk and said this was not a non-smoking room. They said they had other rooms available and to come back down to the front desk. When I got back down they told me no other rooms in the entire hotel were available. They ended up giving me a room that was an "emergency room" but this did qualify as an emergency. It was 2 double beds and no extra seating area. I mention this because my total bill ended up being higher than if I had stayed in the filthy, smoking room. I had to stop back at the front desk during my visit to get this corrected as I looked at the future bill in my Wyndham app and saw it was higher. They adjusted the bill but no other accommodations, or even a "Sorry", was provided for the trouble. Breakfast was just OK. Whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, why should I have to pay more for a lesser room when I was not provided the room I had reserved. Won't be back. Update: the hotel’s response is simply not true. While I had originally reserved a regular king room I had updated my reservation to a king room Executive Suite and will happily forward the email to prove it. That is the room I was placed in as it was the room I reserved. No “free upgrade” was given. And, yes, if you look at my final bill it is slightly lower for the two double beds than the Executive Suite because, as I said in my review, I had to stop at the front desk to review my bill as the Wyndham app showed the new bill for the double bed rooms was higher and a manager had to adjust the bill accordingly once I explained the situation. The person even said it was a mistake and not done correctly with how the updated bill was done. So no, I am not lying and I am giving an honest review of what it is like staying at...

If you book through a group and have to cancel prior to your stay, make sure you do it 14 DAYS in advance! A team tournament was canceled a week before the event for reasons beyond our control. Although this was fully explained to the manager at La Quinta Inn York, they still went ahead and charged us each a $60 cancelation fee. Hoping that La Quinta York might exhibit some customer friendly business with me, I asked if they would be willing to waive the fee if I were to book another stay there at some point in time in the future. Tournaments are held in that area regularly and I am sure we will need to book another hotel in York in the near future. The manger I spoke with was very cold, repeated La Quinta's "policy" for group cancelations, and chose to stick with the $60.00 charge going onto my credit card. We each must make our own decisions about things, but I will warn all that if you do not cancel your group booking 14 days or more before your scheduled stay, you will be charged a hefty amount for the cancelation. Don't bother to try to explain anything to them, because, as this manager proved, they don't care. I will personally choose not to use a La Quinta at all from this point forward. My decision probably doesn't mean a thing to the multitude and La Quinta, but I'm making that decision anyway. If and when I must book a hotel in or near York again, I will choose to book at any of the following hotels over La Quinta York. My business with them is over.

Read moreMy family and I came up to PA for an overnight trip. We found this hotel on Google and thought that it looked up to date and modern so we booked it. Unfortunately I didn’t look at the reviews before booking which I should have.
We arrived and the night staff at the front desk wasn’t the nicest and seemed like he had better things to do. After we got checked in, we went up to the room and my wife took off her shoes and noticed the floor was sticky. She thought it had just been cleaned so naturally could have felt sticky but was really just a little wet. Nope. Hours later it was still sticky.
After staying in the room for a bit, it was time to get ready for bed and we went to arrange the room so our son who is 1.5 years old could be in his pack and play and be blocked so he can’t see us (so he falls asleep without distractions). We went to move the couch and when we did, there were crumbs from who knows when underneath. Not just little crumbs, I am talking pepperonis, full French fries, chunks of bread, etc. immediately we called down to the front desk and they offered to move us to another room so we did. At 9:30pm. This was after blatantly asking ‘are you wanting a discount or new room?’
Once in the new room, we moved the couch again and noticed it hadn’t been cleaned. We know this because we found the remote that had been replaced already. Also more crumbs. This room wasn’t that bad though so we stayed.
In the morning, our son was running around and the corner piece that protects the wall corner fell off randomly and crashed to the floor, luckily missing him. We tried putting it back on but it was useless.
One last thing we noticed is the water is scorching hot. Don’t let your kids at any age control the water temperature of the bath/shower/sink because it is hot enough to make a grown man cry.
We won’t be staying in this hotel any time...
