Anybody that knows me is aware of my love for different genres of music depending on my mood. Neo Soul, jazz, country, blues, rock; etc etc. Tonight I got a rude unwelcoming from Banana Wind Bar and Grill which I have been wanting to visit for a while. It's literally four minutes from my home. I was so disappointed and disgusted by one bartender's behavior that I wrote the establishment.
Good evening. I am VERY disgusted at the way I was just treated at your lounge. I walked in, sat at the bar patiently waiting to get a hello and a beer. One minute, two minutes, three minutes went by and still NOTHING. A young white guy came through the door, walked straight to the bar and a tall bearded bartender instantly walked past me and asked him "what can I get you buddy"? I asked the bartender, "do you not see me sitting here? He said " NO I don't". So instead of starting an argument or waiting to spend my money, I left. I have lived in ZHills for five years and I have never encountered such disrespect. African American people live here, pay our way and support this city. We/ I love country, rock, jazz and blues music, so I'm prepared to spend my money in establishments that are fun and welcoming. I try not to jump to the conclusion of racism when I'm mistreated, but this was blatant and unnecessary. I work for an establishment that welcomes EVERYBODY, so if I'm invisible and not welcome in a bar, restaurant or store; etc in the city in which I reside I consider that RACIST and IGNORANT. You may not care, but I will post that your establishment is racist and unwelcoming to people of color. My suggestion is that blind and or racist people not be allowed to work at your establishment, since they're unable to see that their actions could hinder your success. I am VERY disappointed and I'll NEVER set foot in your bar again, nor will I suggest Banana Wind to people I know. Word of mouth is loud, but social media is an unlimited avenue to get the word out....

The theme is effortlessly captivating, transporting you straight to a place where fun and relaxation meet. With a live music and karaoke stage, it's the perfect backdrop for those nights when you just want to let loose and sing your heart out. And for the more laid-back moments, the pool tables offer a competitive yet friendly atmosphere that's hard to beat.
Not to forget, the array of screens ensure you never miss a moment of the game, making it an ideal haunt for sports enthusiasts. Plus, the air conditioning is a godsend, making my time there all the more comfortable. And who could overlook the #touchtunes jukebox? There's something quite magical about being able to play DJ and fill the space with your favorite tunes.

Read moreI absolutely love Banana Wind Zephyrhills!! The owners Mike & Angela are incredible hosts to everyone. The food is fresh and homemade ... Not the typical "bar food" served at other establishments. There's always a wide range of live music that draws in wonderful crowds. They also have an outdoor sitting area with a huge flat screen so you dont have to miss your favorite sport teams as well as flat screens around the bar area inside. The bartenders John & Dakota are some of the BEST bartenders around. The place is very clean and both owners are always working the floor- making sure everyone's enjoying themselves. Great energy. I highly recommend Banana Wind in Zephyrhills! You...
