I protest having to give 1 star, but you have to to post a review
I was so happy to see the Checkers being build in town. Since it has opened, I have been there about 10 times. I can honestly say I have only had 1 (one) visit that was acceptable. This is without any question the worst run They never get orders right. You sit in line for 10 minutes and when you get to the window they have to ask you t what you ordered and then hastily prepare it for you. You make a special request to have an ingredient removed from a sandwich and it never happens. Here are a couple of highlights from my visits.
On about visit 5, I informed them that all of my prior orders had been messed up and although I had never complained to that point I told them that this time I expected perfection. I even spoke with the manager on duty about this. When I got home, half my order was missing and what was there was made wrong. Remember that I spoke t=with a manager.
On around visit 9, during the virus outbreak, we sat in line about 15 minutes for some reason. After getting to the window, they had no idea what my order was. Worse than that, the car in front of me parked and brought their food back to the walk up window. I could see the employee looking through the bag and removing the items and putting them into a new bag. I am not sure if that was my stuff or what, but I demanded a refund and left. The manager on duty that time seemed quite mad at me.
Trip number 10, the last trip I will ever make to this location, I ordered off of their 2 doubles for $5.00 menu. Which means that I could get 2 orders of 2 chili dogs for $5.00. After 2 different employees tried they could only figure out how to get the bill down to $6.40. I told them that it should be $5.00 plus tax, but they were clear that $6.40 was the correct price for the $5.00 item. So I thanked them and left.
I love Checkers, but I will never go back to this one again.
Lastly, I offer a general observation. There is a tall gentleman that has been working at the window on a few of my visits. He has what I consider to be very long fingernails for a man. they extend past the tips of the fingers. The problem is that they are not painted and look gross. They need to be either cleaned very well on the underside or paint them. I understand that painting them just covers up the issue, but at least dirty fingernails are not the last thing you see as your food is handed to you.
Again I stress, I am a big fan of Checkers and will continue go the them when I travel but I will never return to the Zephyrhills...
Read moreIf I could do negative I would, this is not something like oh no they put onions on my burger when I asked for no onions, this is serious life impacting situations that this poorly run franchise have impacted my family. My wife used to work for Checkers Cooperate some years ago and she was actively recruited by what we were told was a part owner and district manager Fadaunt and the General Manager Tom for a position at this store. My wife doing the right and responsible thing after being promised a position and pay gave a two week notice at her current employer filled out her new hire paperwork and purchased items needed for this role such as black pants and slip resident shoes. She was informed on Friday that both Faduant and Tom were no longer part of the company, so she reached out to Bill the owner via phone call and text expecting to start on Monday in the role promised to her. She received a call back on Monday informing her with all the changes there was confusion and they asked for her to come for an interview on Wednesday, for a job she was already promised. Trying to stay positive thinking with all the turnover they were going to need her even more, she drove an hour to the store, sat out on the patio for at least another 30 minutes only to be quickly told her position had been given to someone else and they might have a lesser role to offer her. Seeing how this location is an hour away she was only interested in accepting it based on the role and pay she was promised so this does nothing for her. For anyone who takes the time to read this review and can see the amount of time, money, and inconvenience this has cost my family, I would hope you would take your business somewhere else or look for employment somewhere else as this restaurant is run by a group of leaders that lack integrity or communication skills. I have every intention of sharing this info on every website I can including Checkers Cooperate and the Better Business Bureau and anyone else that will...
