they have decent coffee. the waiting staff is overworked and the admin/managers dont seem to care enough to give them a hand. it is nice that they care about accessibility but it is a shame that they dont really practice what they preach (it looks nice on the menu dou) there is a lovely fountain right outside and a Carlos Gardel sculpture that is very popular with tourists. They claim to have awesome churros, but their fryer is broken. The food i had (healthy brunch platter) was horrendous, they serve granola with sweetened yogurt, which feels like you are eating a dessert meant for kids, their blended fruit juices are not made with fresh juice but rather canned fruit, and there is zero seasoning on their eggs, plus the eggs were cold and cooked so bad they were like rubber when they got to my table. You get 2 dry pieces of toast and a dry oatmeal cookie with no butter and no jam. The best part of my brunch was the coffee and the orange juice, and this is an expensive spot for montevideo standards. It looks like it may be a good spot for brunch online, but i honestly think you can get much better food at Dunkin or Starbucks in the US. The main reason why we stopped by Facal was to taste some maté. As almost any Uruguayan has their own personal stash of llerba maté readily available, there is little need for any cafés or bars to serve it, but Bar Facal has it on the menu! So, we sat at a table next to the large windows and ordered maté and churros. The maté portion is big. You get your very own hot water thermos. It would probably be wise to just get one and share it ;) Otherwise, the place was great for people watching.
