Khorezm Art restaurant has a wonderful terrace in the middle of an old Madrasa, especially beautiful at sunset.
The home made Shivit Oji, the traditional Khiva dill fresh pasta, were delicious, as well as the Mojito.
The restaurant is led by a warm-hearted Ouzbek-French woman, who gives the opportunity to young women of neighbouring villages to gain experience in the gastronomy and hence build-up an independant life.
Two young ladies showed us how to make the Shivit Oji dough and tomato sauce, as well as how to cook the Shivit Oji; which was a very enjoyable experience across the language and cultural differences.
Thanks to the family young son, we also got the chance to discover some hidden part of the beautiful medrasa.

We ordered Vegetarian Plov. We believe it’s originally meant to be a non vegetarian dish. Converting it to vegetarian doesn’t do justice to it.

But once inside, you will find a pleasant, climatized restaurants with around 20 seats and typical local cuisine. Food quality can be different and improved, having tested so many restaurants in Uzbekistan, but absolutely not bad. Manti arrived very quickly (3 minutes from order) to have been freshly cooked.
