Had lunch and dinner here multiple times because the food was delicious. Bun bo (Hue) was very flavorful with rich broth, nice slices of beef served with a healthy (and clean) plate of raw veggies that included banana blossom and lots of herbs. You want more herbs or fresh chillies, just ask. The beef stew with French bread was tender and flavors balanced and delicious. The seafood lau was full of fish, large shrimps, cockles/clams, squids and veggies in a tangy broth (Viet version of tom yum). The deep fried tofu was crispy on the outside but so yummy soft on the inside. You can have the soy with my black vinegar chilli dipping sauce or the mam (shrimp paste) dipping sauce. I prefer soy vinegar because it's less overwhelming. The rao muong (morning glory) stir fry comes with lots of garlic and very nicely salted. And OMG the deep fried soft shell crabs were so amazing we ordered a second dish: two large battered deep fried crabs with chilli or homemade tartar sauce. One restaurant I wish I had a larger appetite so I can eat more. Beers are cheap too. And the kids (servers) are super sweet and fun... Totally not your typical inattentive rude vendors. One of the best food we...
Read moreCame here with our group of 6. Soft shell crab (2) was battered and deep fried whole. Tasted more greasy as there was not a great choice of sauces. Deep fried prawns would be their best dish and was fairly good even though it was served with mayo and ketchup. Portion sizes were somewhat on the small size for rice and noodle dishes. Tiger larue beer was cheap compared to other restaurants. Seats were too low for tall people. Music was a bit loud so it wasn't good for conversation. Server couldn't get the orders straight as we had separate bills Overall...
Read moreAn amazing Thai-style seafood restaurant in Da Nang. For me, the stand out dishes were the larb and the clams. As for the price, I’m Australian and spent about $30 AUD on a late night dinner incl a bunch of seperate dishes for 3 people (as well as a few rounds of beers). This was a top tier meal for a nice price in a FUN atmosphere, aka the perfect SE Asian holiday vibe. You can smoke cigs at the restaurant & the staff are so cute and friendly. If I’m ever back in this area, I will be returning to Hook with some dong & a pack of cravens, ready to have another...
