There should be a more direct way to praise the chef, as we found the meals that we ordered to be outstanding. The pastas in particular were very creamy and flavourful. The spicy short cheese pasta was also very spicy which was a nice change!
The only reason I have rated 4 stars is due to the peculiar service from the staff. When we walked in the restaurant was empty with just two other diners present. We were asked if we had a booking, and we tried to explain that we had a booking for later on in the night but decided to come early as we were hungry. The staff couldn’t understand this, we were asked about 5 times for the name that the booking was under - but I didn’t see what the big issue was given the restaurant was empty. We were eventually seated after I got a bit stroppy about the above.
My husband said that we would share the appetisers, and that we would each order our own pasta main. We also ordered a leffe each. Only one leffe was brought out at first and the waiter divided the bottle between our two glasses. The second leffe bottle then appeared and again the waiter divided this bottle between the two of us until the beer reached the rim. There was then a quarter left in one bottle which was left on the table. My husband consumed his beer a bit quicker than me, so the waitress then came around and poured the remaining beer into his glass. This was just such a weird thing to do, why not give each person the bottle that they ordered and let them consume it in its entirety at their own pace??
Unfortunately the pastas were also brought out to the table as we were 3/4 of the way in to eating the appetisers. As the pastas were warm we decided to move onto them so they wouldn’t get cold. The waitress then came and took away the side plates we were using for the shared appetisers because we had moved onto the pastas.
The staff just need a bit more training, considering the prices being charged at such an establishment you’d expect more seamless service.
The staff also ask you to complete a google review then and there to get a free ice cream - so this probably contributes to its high rating. While we could not fault the food, I’m sure a lot of people would quickly pump out a 5 star review and not provide much detail to get...

Read moreI was excited to try Pink Salt after hearing good reviews from a friend. After looking at the menu, I thought it was a must-try, but I was left disappointed.
Ambiance: The design was minimalistic and contemporary, as expected for fine dining. However, the loud pop music didn’t fit the vibe. I asked for the volume to be lowered, and they complied. The balance between cost-saving design and luxury was decent. The leather sofas were a nice touch. Ambiance: 8/10.
Menu: The menu felt cheap, like a high-end coffee shop. While there was a wide selection, the presentation was underwhelming. Menu: 6/10.
Service: The server didn’t understand English well and turned to a Vietnamese-speaking guest to continue the order. While understandable, I blame management for not having fluent staff. We ordered a Cobb salad, cheesy scallops, Pink Salt platter, and Pink Salt pasta. The salad was difficult to mix, so we asked the server to do it for us, which she did. When the pasta came, I requested the kitchen to portion it for four people. The server hesitated but eventually agreed. Only three tables were occupied, yet no one checked how the food was during the meal. Staff wore casual shoes and seemed distracted, chatting and laughing. After paying 3,742,000 VND, the server pointed out we were short by 200 VND (a penny). Service: 3/10.
Food: The food was mediocre. The Cobb salad was basic and overpriced. The cheesy scallops had a good cheese pull, but the standout dish was the Pink Salt pasta, which was excellent—like a pink carbonara. The Pink Salt platter was visually impressive but lacked standout flavors. Steak and luc loc beef were good, but the shrimp was hard to eat, and the lobster was drowned in sweet mayo. Food: 7/10 for the pasta; otherwise average.
TL;DR: Pink Salt tries to be fine dining but falls short on service and details. Value to price ratio was definitely not met. The Pink Salt pasta is worth returning for, and they offered a free pasta voucher. Also, I probably will get a generic response like the other lower rated reviews....
