Issun Boshi — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

I stopped by Issue Bishi today for an early lunch around 11:00 AM—turns out I was the first customer of the day. The staff greeted me with a smile and even opened the door for me, which was such a warm and welcoming start.

I was hungry, so I dove straight into their lunch menu (120K VND) and chose a few of my favorites: the fatty sashimi salmon belly (can’t resist fresh, fatty fish!), a tuna maki, and a nigiri set with tender cooked white fish. Everything looked and tasted incredibly fresh.

While waiting, I noticed two staff members preparing dumplings from scratch. I’ve had hit-or-miss experiences with dumplings in the past, but I gave them a try—and wow, I’m glad I did. The pork dumplings were crispy on the outside, gooey and hot inside. Super satisfying.

On top of that, they offered complimentary green tea, a warming miso soup, and a small appetizer of steamed vegetables—a lovely touch.

Yes, prices might be slightly higher compared to some other sushi spots in Da Nang, but the quality speaks for itself. This was my third sushi restaurant in town, and honestly, Issue Bishi has become my favorite so far.

One small detail: the sushi rice was a bit warm, but that just confirmed to me how fresh everything was. I think the team wasn’t expecting an early guest and rushed to make everything perfect and fresh on the spot—which I truly appreciate.

Much better than last time (been a while tho). Of course, obviously in a good location on a quiet street but very central to the touristic neighborhood. Established for long time. Super clean venue with outdoor and indoor seating, nice decor, open sushi bar, well equipped hot kitchen (I did quickly look behind the curtains). Fast delivery to the table from order, seems well organized. The sushi roll (we had tuna, salmon and the yellow stuff) was legit and abundant - but the highlight of the dinner was the bbq sticks, particularly the chicken liver (very rare to find in da nang). Many food options available and served with a very good complementary starter and a small side soup to close the meal were offered (nice touch guys). Good service also, and with draft sapporo served in frosted glass- as supposed to be. Overall not perfect, but we spent only 400k, 2 of us (with 10% tip).

I found another great sushi spot. I was holding off trying this place due to their 4.3 rating on google but after reading the critical reviews, I found nothing that warranted a “3 star”. We walked in, was greeted immediately, order taken without any complications and the drinks and food came out promptly. The sashimi was a bit more than other spots but the freshness, presentation and cuts were excellent! I ordered sashimi for two and enjoyed every selection the chef made. We had the grilled salmon roll and it was also delicious. The rice was perfectly seasoned and the presentation was great. We also ordered the spicy chicken karaage and the shrimp tempura and both were spot on! Not greasy or overly battered and the taste was also excellent. Definitely recommend this place.
