Tê Bar is Da Nang’s hidden gem—on the 3rd floor of Nguyễn Thái Học, it blends speakeasy charm with laid-back vibes. Named “Tê” (short for tequila, and a playful nod to “tầng ba”), this moody, candlelit lounge invites you in, offering a cozy cocoon away from the street noise.
When you sit at the counter, bartenders don’t just mix drinks—they tell stories. From mojitos rooted in 16th-century Cuban remedies to creative takes like their pho cocktail, each sip connects you to a narrative. A popular bar snack—orange slices dusted with brown sugar and coffee powder—wakes up your palate like nothing else.
Service is thoughtful but unforced—chairs are adjusted, tequila shots are offered, and the vibe stays warm, social, and effortlessly cool. Reviews call it “one of my favorite spots” for its cocktails and atmosphere.

The list is fairly extensive with a focus on classic cocktails. Potato sticks are free and in abundance.
On my second visit, I ordered an Old Gal which is a classic Rye Whiskey or Bourbon based cocktail. Can’t say I tasted Bourbon in the drink, but fine.
Most mainstream brown spirits in Vietnam just came out of the still and lack the requisite maturity. It’s just the nature of what the big brands push here and the reason why 95% of the population still prefers beer here.
Alas, I digress.
Surprisingly my order was delivered from someone other than the bartender who took my initial order. To say blasphemy is an understatement (-1 point).
This is not a freaking coffee shop. Oh wait. It is.
Overall it’s a fun and youthful place that serves cocktails at serious cocktail bar prices but still can use some improvement. Great crowd, always busy and if you’re lucky, you might even get a fire show.
Would I come back? Yes. Still a fun place to go. Maybe next time a rum &...

Tê is just a few blocks from my hotel and I wanted a quick drink before ending the evening after dinner. It’s a gorgeous intimate spot with vibey music and delicious cocktails crafted with care. I came alone and sat at the bar, luckily no smokers this evening. My bartender was Ca(? it was loud and I only heard two letters but he’s been working there for 5 years!) and he was lovely to chat to. He immediately knew I was American from ordering an espresso martini which I thought was funny. All the staff was professional and courteous and all the cocktails were a spectacle. The free nibbles was delicious and I had to stop them from giving me more because I will have no self control.
Every cocktail is priced around $8usd which is an absolutely steal for what you get — presentation and taste on point. The Polaroids on the wall is such a cute touch as well. The overall aesthetic was just up my alley. Cozy seating, classy setting, chaos-free crowd. If I lived in Da Nang this would be my weekend spot. I hope this place continues to thrive, it’s such a gem. I think...
