why haven't you been here yet ??? I just came here for dinner 2 days ago and have some feelings as follows - About the space: cozy, luxurious, suitable for dating - Food: I ordered the dishes recommended by the owner such as mango salad with shrimp, Hue spring rolls, stir -fried beef with bamboo tubes, duck coconut, 2 portions of mango ice cream. Every table was offered shrimp wings at the beginning of the meal. I am quite picky but when eating here, I found it very good. Mango salad is not too sour, very tasty 9/10. Otherwise, it is normal, not too excellent 7/10. The dish I found most delicious is stir-fried beef with bamboo tubes, stir-fried with black pepper, very attractive, stir-fried beef is cooked until tender and juicy 10/10. The roasted duck dish is served in a coconut, looks very cute, the staff lit a fire to surprise everyone 9/10. The dessert was mango sticky rice ice cream, which was quite similar to what I ate in Thailand. I wish I knew the recipe at this restaurant because when I ate it, it felt very special. The fatty taste when eaten with coconut milk was 1000 points. - Service: the staff were very dedicated and professional, always smiling. Cold towels are free . Staff gave instructions from beginning to end on how to eat the dishes to make them most delicious. When the restaurant was crowded, I accidentally dropped my spoon, thinking no one would like it, but someone ran over and gave me a new spoon right away, which made me feel very sympathetic. The year-end party also gave me and my patner 2 more cups of tea. When I went to the restaurant, it was a bit crowded and my experience is that everyone should book a table in advance to get the best table. The table next to my house had a birthday and also got a cake, so it was very suitable for any special occasion. My patner praised the food and found it very funny. I will enjoy the price and come back.

Disappointing experience for my partner and I. Booked a table for our Christmas Dinner after reading the food reviews. When we arrived, the place was stuffy and we had to inform the staff. The place was cramp and you can easily hear the conversation from tables all around you so nowhere near a fine dining restaurant in my opinion. The fried squid came cold (?), the table beside us had the same comment. The beef was tough and fried noodles was way too oily. The dessert could have been ok without the cheap tasting chocolate syrup. Their saving grace was the pumpkin soup we loved and their wine (this cannot go wrong). We've given our feedback to the ground staff because it was way below expectations. Though they'd given us a 20% discount, I don't think we will recommend anyone given the price tag. We ended up having to get street food dinner because we cannot bring ourselves to finish what was served. Overall, for the service I will say its a 5/5. The staffs spoke good English and were attentive. The food however was what we were there for, and it clearly was not up to standard.

This lovely restaurant on the top floor of our hotel is well worth a visit. Do try to arrive before sunset to get a great view of the city skyline. They seated us by a window but unfortunately the sky was already dark and we couldn't see much of the surroundinga outside. There was a good selection of Vietnamese food from the various regions. All expertly prepared and delicious. The wine was chilled perfectly. We were served excellently by Dean who was ernest, soft spoken and obliging. Unfortunately the one element that dissuaded me from giving this restaurant a perfect score was the female server of a neighbouring table with a Caucasian family. While she was equally enthusiastic in her service, her voice was loud. As it is the tables were closer to each other than what I find usually so the volume of her voice meant that we would hear the conversations at the other table ever so often. I offer this sincerely as a feedback for improvement towards perfection because overall the restaurant was wonderful. I think the staff was unaware of the volume of her own voice.

Just had the most incredible dinner at Essence Restaurant in Hanoi! The atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated, with beautiful views of the city. But the real star of the show was the food. Flavors that Explode: Bamboo Beef: This dish was a revelation. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked to perfection and bursting with savory flavor. The bamboo shoots added a delightful crunch and a unique earthy taste. It was unlike any beef dish I've had before, and I'm already craving it again! Hanoi Crispy Spring Rolls: These spring rolls were the perfect way to start the meal. The filling was crispy on the outside and packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The dipping sauce added a perfect tangy touch. I couldn't resist ordering a second round! Highly recommended! ^^ ❤️

presentation and service is 10/10, for the price the quality is definitely worth banh xeo: 1/5 skin is too thick compared to others. skin to filling ratio is low. bamboo beef: 3/5, tender and smokey flavour we love! the texture is mushy and some might not like bun cha: 5/5!!!! amazing meat and the broth is so flavourful! fish: 2/5 fish meat is too dry even though a bamboo leaf should retain moisture, but flavour was good bak choy: 5/5!!!! we love the flavour but there the garlic taste might not be to everyone’s liking hanoi crispy spring roll: 3.5/5 the content they used are fresh and nice, thin crust and easy to chew. good but nothing amazing we enjoyed the entire experience overall and would come back again. would recommend it as a fancy option with nice ambience.

High-end service from Vietnamese and English speaking servers at Essence, at the top floor of the hotel. The lobby is beautiful which is a nice experience when you’re entering for dining. Food presentation is on point and I’d highly recommend their grapefruit and shrimp salad and bamboo beef. We loved the complimentary shrimp chips at the start. The taro duck presentation is TOP, an unexpected surprise with a ring of fire around the coconut base, only comment was our duck was a tad dry. Warm and positive review written in person to chefs for the feedback. Excellent decor, ambience, and service that exceeds the price point. Apple crisp for dessert was nice too, i am just used to it being hotter upon arriving
