This place exceeded my expectations! The receptionist was incredibly helpful, friendly, speaks really good english and even managed to change my reservation last minute. When I came for just to make the reservation, I was greeted with a complimentary drink and got to relax in the lobby until my tour agent arrived. My therapist is Bela and she was really highly skilled, and the Asian Blend Massage she did was fantastic - top-notch service! Despite minimal communication, she understood exactly what I needed. She's really the best therapist you could ask here.
As a regular spa-goer, I found this place wonderful. The warm towel skin cleaning after each treatment was a nice touch. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, though a bit of paint on the ceiling would be a welcome addition to address some mold. Complimentary drinks and snacks were provided before and after treatment.
The only drawbacks were the lack of cleanliness in the restroom (it may have been my unfortunate timing that I used the restroom after someone who didn't leave it in a clean state, resulting in the toilet seat being soiled with urine), oh and a bit of disturbance during the massage (after around 30 mins of treatment) due to noise from staff outside the room.
While the price might be slightly higher compared to other places, the exceptional service and quality of the facility make it completely worth it to me. No regrets whatsoever.
Nonetheless, the overall experience was excellent. Compared to other spas I've been to, this one stands out as the best. I also appreciated that the staff didn't ask for a tip, like any other places. You can give one directly after your treatment if you choose to. I'll definitely be...
Read moreLa Belle Vie Spa was where we visited for our body massage treatment during a recent visit to Hanoi, Vietnam. We were searching through the recommended spas in Hanoi and found La Belle Vie Spa to be ranked rather highly. Of course there are even more atas (high class) massage and spa venues in Hanoi such as those in 5 star hotels. However, we limited our search to massages that cost $30 SGD or less per hour, with highly-rated reviews. La Belle Vie Spa checked all the boxes…
The first impressions of La Belle Vie Spa Massage in Hanoi was actually quite good. Once we entered, we were asked whether we had made a reservation (in this case, we did via an email from their website). We indicated our reservations and were then shown to be seated at the reception area at level 1. The reception area of La Belle Vie Spa is actually not very big but is able to house about 4 couples. There is also 1 toilet at level 1 which you can use just before your treatment. The staff were friendly and we felt comfortable.
Once we were seated, another staff approached us to confirm our treatment. He also recommended a different treatment using the tools laid out on the table. However, we stuck to our original treatment decision of having the 2 hours La Belle Vie signature massage. We were also served candied fruits, nuts, towel and tea after we decided on the treatment. During this time, we were also given a form to indicate where we would not want to be massaged and where we would like to have more emphasis on. For the La Belle Vie signature massage, the description goes as follows:

Read moreThe massage itself was good but the experience around the massage was not.
I had booked our massages in advance so when I walked in, I gave my name and they confirmed that I'd booked the aromatherapy massage (which is one of their cheaper offerings but still pricier than many of the other places in town). Then they sat us down and started pressuring us to upgrade or add something else. My husband and I were each given a menu of options but we decided to stick with what we booked. The receptionist was visibly agitated.
After that, there were a few strange things with the massage that I probably wouldn't bother to mention if the receptionist hadn't been so pushy. Things like: the satin shorts they told me to change into were clearly made for a large man, not a woman. They were falling off and I had to hold them up as I made my way to the foot bath and then the table. Also, my husband and I both agree that we noticed no actual aromatherapy. If the oil they used was scented, we couldn't smell it.
Overall, you'll have an enjoyable massage in nice facilities but just expect them to try for...
