I’m not one to normally write a bad review so this takes a lot. I’m vegetarian and my partner isn’t, so we had to order 2 different mains. We ordered one starter and one side. The waiter originally told us it was too much food. So my partner sacrificed his side and we shared the vegetarian side, after taking the waiters advice. The waiter kept going on about how we ordered too much food. I then discovered our sides came with extra rice, so I told the waiter to not bring the extra rice as we had already ordered rice as the side. He said no he’ll bring the rice anyway and if we don’t eat it we don’t eat it. At the end we obviously had some left over and the waiter said ‘I told you it was too much food’. My partner started to get frustrated at the point and said ‘we’re paying for it, so we’ll order as much as we want’. The waiter seemed to be annoyed that we had food left over. It caused atmosphere in the whole restaurant and made it so awkward. Even worse, I am recovering from an eating disorder, so to hear comments like that are very triggering. Would not reccomend to anyone who suffered from disordered eating, or anyone in general. Very bad service from that one waiter. Will not be visiting again. (Food was...
Read moreMẸT Vietnamese Restaurant left an indelible mark on our taste buds during our trip. The culinary experience was nothing short of excellent, prompting us to dine there twice. The Bun Cha, impeccably grilled with a subtle hint of the grill and just the right char, stood out as a delectable highlight. The sautéed duck with pineapple emerged as a family favorite, boasting a perfect blend of flavors. The braised tofu with mushrooms proved to be an ideal companion to rice, delivering a satisfying and savory combination. Not only did the food impress, but the service was equally commendable, contributing to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
A noteworthy touch was the tea service, served by the pot and accompanied by delightful sweet treats—tiny mung bean cakes. These little additions elevated our dining experience, leaving us so enchanted that we sought out the shops to purchase these delectable treats. MẸT Vietnamese Restaurant undoubtedly delivered not only on exquisite flavors but also on a memorable culinary journey, making it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic and delightful Vietnamese...
Read moreI knew this place would be a tourist trap but I needed to see and taste it to confirm my doubts. The restaurant has a very high rating and the price is high compared to other restaurants, but nothing compared to the European price. However, it confirmed what I feared. the staff were nice and the restaurant was quite clean. However, the food was very average. In terms of taste, they were fine, nothing you wouldn't taste on the street or in businesses across from hospitals. What bothered me the most is that, despite the high price ( at Vietnamese level), you can find quite small portions of food here. For example, Ra muong, which is extremely cheap, was not cheap here and the portion was very small, the same for fried noodles. In terms of taste, I rate it a very weak 3,5 stars, but overall I have to give it a three for the price and performance and I would recommend everyone to find food somewhere else. If you don't mind the high price, average food and want to sit in a quiet restaurant where they are nice and speak English,...
