I must be honest; this is a disappointing KFC. If I had been to more Vietnamese KFCs, perhaps I could tell more about them in this country as a whole, but for this one, it is disappointing.
The chicken is very bad. It will not make you sick, and it does not have an offensive taste, but it also does not have a good taste. It lacked any seasoning. This is kind of bewildering, considering KFC in the west - and in Japan, is known for its seasoning. But this chicken had none. One piece was very dry, the other moist enough. I had also an egg tart, which was good, and some fries, which were also good.
The staff were very nice and knew more than enough english to help me along.
The atmosphere is very great if you sit on the balcony, it overlooks the roundabout and you can see the lake. Today it was hot, but there was shade from the building and a breeze, so it was very enjoyable.
If you would like a snack such as the fries and egg tart, and would like a view, then it is a nice place, (and very cheap, only VND 105,000 for a 2 piece combo including a drink, plus an egg tart). Otherwise, eat someplace else. You can spend VND 90,000 for much...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience. I ordered three identical hamburgers for takeaway. At the pickup area, I noticed that the orders of customers who arrived after me were all ready. After waiting for 12 minutes, I asked the staff how much longer I would have to wait. She told me that the machine used to make the hamburgers was broken and that I would need to wait another 5 to 10 minutes. The problem was, why were the hamburgers for other people’s orders being made smoothly? When I said I didn’t want to wait any longer and wanted to cancel my order, the staff asked me to wait a little more and offered me a free drink as compensation. A few minutes later, she told me again that they had run out of cheese slices for the hamburgers and asked if I could switch to another ingredient. Normally, other people’s orders are ready in about 5 minutes, but I ended up waiting a total of 25 minutes. The staff had a good attitude and she said sorry to me when she gave me my order, but I will never come to this...
Read moreI recently visited the KFC near the lake in Hanoi with my kids, arriving just as the restaurant was about to close at 9:45 PM. Despite the late hour, the staff were incredibly accommodating, taking our order with patience and courtesy. While many Grab and other food delivery app agents were turned away due to the restaurant's imminent closing, we were graciously allowed to dine in.
The food was served fresh and hot, a testament to the staff's dedication to customer service, especially for families with young children. The staff went out of their way to ensure that the kids were happy and well taken care of during our visit.
In terms of cost, the meal was quite reasonable, with fried chicken priced around 200k VND, making it much cheaper than other nearby options like Domino's and other restaurants.
Overall, the KFC by the lake in Hanoi impressed us with their exceptional service and affordable prices. A standing ovation to the staff for their courtesy and making our late-night visit a...
