I was staying at a nearby hotel and was attracted to this restaurant with lantern walls while relaxing on the balcony. After checking various website reviews that said the food was good, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is on the second floor, and the first floor is a clothing store. If it weren't for the restaurant staff standing outside the clothing store, we wouldn't have known how to get to the restaurant. However, in hindsight, it would have been better not to go up because I was really angry. The seats by the outer edge where you can view the street scene and street performers were full. We asked if we could switch to those seats when they became available. A short-haired, fair-skinned, un-Vietnamese-looking Vietnamese staff member said, "NO." However, I later saw her help a European woman switch seats. When ordering, we wanted to try various dishes, but each meal came with a portion of rice noodles. We asked if we could get a larger portion of the main dish instead of the rice noodles or if the price would be different. The somewhat pretty Vietnamese staff member, without expression, said, "Same price." At this point, I had already decided to leave a negative review on Google Maps, but since everyone said the food was good and the restaurant is about the food, not the service, we stayed and started ordering. After ordering, the well-skinned but sour-faced Vietnamese staff member just asked, "Any else?" After we said, "That's all," she simply said, "Charge 10% service fee." After confirming that we would pay the 10% service fee, she left without repeating our order. I seriously observed her taking orders from other customers, and she neither mentioned the 10% service fee nor repeated the orders. Is it because other customers are noble Europeans or because we spoke Chinese? I later realized that when we started speaking Taiwanese, many Vietnamese people treated us much better! The food arrived! As expected, the curry egg, which should have come with bread, was served with rice. When we questioned this, she angrily showed us the order on her device, insisting that we ordered rice. I asked if she had rechecked the order with us. I questioned whether the 10% service fee included such service. I asked if it was impossible to change the order even if we made a mistake. Seeing the tension, another waiter immediately offered to replace the dish, preventing a confrontation. After all, I learned a lot of wisdom from my mother-in-law, such as bravely speaking up for myself. In conclusion, the food at this restaurant is good; it's just that a single staff member's poor attitude marred...

Not sure why it could get 4.8 reviews on google, but unfortunately my experience was far below that rating. Came here because of the high review and it’s just 1 min away from my hotel. But I wasn’t impressed.

We ordered one portion of vegetarian spring roll (almost no taste-they didn’t even give cutlery or tissue so we ate with our hands) and two beef pho that is very mediocre. Anyone can make that. We spent 573.000 dong including two ice teas (I ordered lemongrass ice tea that was overly sweet, I didn’t finish it).

The staff gave the menu and was just standing next to us to look at us looking at the menu, which I think it is very annoying. It gave customer a pressure to order as soon as possible, meanwhile they have few pages of menu that needs time to navigate.

You can hear the music from downstairs and that’s good, but the downside is you can’t talk to each other and waiters can’t even hear you out when you’re ordering food, music was just simply too loud. The decoration gave a pretty and chill vibes, but we are here for the food as well isn’t it?

There was 3 waiters on the 3rd floor that night and when customers didn’t need services, they just sit there enjoying their beers and played with their phones, didn’t even pay attention to the customer.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hello Hanoi and the experience was quite impressive. The ambiance of the restaurant struck a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, with thoughtfully designed décor and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The lighting was well-suited to the setting, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable dining environment.

The service was notably exceptional. The staff were not only courteous but also demonstrated a strong knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations that enhanced our meal. The timing of the service was well-managed, with our dishes arriving promptly and regular check-ins to ensure our satisfaction.

When it comes to the food, Hello Hanoi truly excelled. Each dish was a testament to skillful preparation, featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients that were both flavorful and beautifully presented.

The restaurant’s cleanliness was also commendable. The dining area, including tables and overall facilities, was impeccably maintained, reflecting a high standard of hygiene.

In terms of value, the pricing was appropriate for the quality and portion sizes provided. The overall dining experience felt well worth the investment, offering both satisfaction and a...

The food we had here was good and the service was amazing! We loved the cat!! For the critique below, refer to the menu pictures as comparison. I just read from one of the reviews that they use onions as fillers and that was def noticeable with the shrimp and rice. Half of the sauce was onions, the rest other vegetables and shrimp. But the taste was fine nevertheless - just seems like an underhanded saving method. Same was with the beef and lemongrass. The menu picture had six pieces, but we were only served four, which could be considered false advertisement and another money saving method. The duck dish also served less meat than in the picture, but was apparently delicious. And then there's the added 10% tax that had been added to the bill since 2023, but somehow conveniently still hasn't been added to the prices of the dishes. Admittedly, 10% on top of the price isn't much, but it still feels like false advertisement and dishonesty regarding the price transparency of dishes. So, to conclude, I would recommend the restaurant for the dishes and the great service, BUT I don't appreciate the business practices of management. Out of principle, I will not visit again.

I am completely confused on how everyone else rated this place as a 5 star restaurant. Went there for dinner since it was close to my hotel. Had a very disappointing experience. The restaurant doesn't have its own entrance, you enter through a clothes shop and go upstairs. I dinned at the top floor. The food was ok, but really not a 5-star food for Hanoi, no way. Service was horrible, staff was super confused, not really willing to work, argued between each other, yelled at each other in front of the guests. The only person actually working was Viet, the rest of the staff was there more as a decoration. Didn't know how to handle our food, didn't clean the table properly, in the end didn't clean anything from the table just pilled everything on it. One of them was sitting at one of the tables playing on the phone rather than working and servicing around. It was a very interesting experience, but also very disappointing, and definitely not worth visiting again.
