How does a restaurant get a 4.9 star rating out of over 1,500 reviews on Google Maps? We decided upon MET Vietnamese Restaurant for our final meal here in Hanoi and it was an excellent choice! MET Vietnamese Restaurant serves a wide variety of traditional Vietnamese food which we saw along the streets of Hanoi, and each is prepared to perfection. The Bun Cha was particularly memorable. The grilled pork was complemented beautifully by the bed of stir-fried bean sprouts, and the stew for the rice vermicelli (i.e. thin rice noodles) was simply splendid. We had read many reviews which raved about the traditional Vietnamese pancake and knew we had to give it a try. It was served with a packet of Vietnamese rice paper, and a basket of greens. The service staff patiently demonstrated how to wrap a slice of the crunchy pancake and a generous serving of greens in two pieces of Vietnamese rice paper. Dipped in sweet chilli sauce as a wrap, it was a unique dish with a well-balanced flavour. We ordered a platter of Vietnamese spring rolls too, served in three styles. The deep fried style was a tasty and timeless classic but the summer and spring versions were nice too. Finally, thinking that what we had already ordered might not be enough, we also ordered a plate of stir-fried egg noodles with chicken, and stir-fried long beans with garlic. Neither were signature dishes of the restaurant but both were comforting and mouth-watering. The high and consistent culinary standards across all the dishes we ordered was a testament to the quality of cooking at MET Vietnamese Restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant is posh and welcoming. Painted murals decorate the walls and the facilities are clean. Little artefacts adorn small display corners of the restaurant to create a nostalgic vibe, without being overwhelming. Service staff were patient and hospitable throughout our time there. Overall, MET Vietnamese Restaurant lives up to its online reputation and popularity amongst tourists. Each dish is a beautifully prepared masterpiece sure to tantalise your taste buds with the best of Vietnamese cuisine. If we ever find ourselves in the Old Quarter of Hanoi again, we will be sure to patronise this gem of a restaurant!

Born in Hanoi but came to this restaurant for the first time because I wanted 2 foreign friends to eat Vietnamese food. The reason for choosing this restaurant is because every restaurants of this system has nearly 10K reviews with almost the highest score, this is quite strange, very rare in Vietnam! When we arrived, we saw that the restaurant was almost full, 100% were foreigners, and we didn't see any Vietnamese people. The space is small, only about 20 tables, decorated simply and popularly. Enthusiastic staff, speak English, know how to advise guests and instruct how to use dishes. The menu has a variety of Vietnamese dishes, including vegetarian dishes. The dishes are cooked to a medium level, not good. The filling of fried spring rolls is lumpy with fatty meat and tendons, the mixture is not fragrant and delicious. The dipping sauce is also in the Southern style, not the traditional spring roll dipping sauce. For those who eat Vietnamese food for the first time or rarely eat Vietnamese food, it will be difficult to evaluate the quality of the food here. The price of the dish is very high, 4 small fried spring rolls cost 75K VND, while eating out is only about 20-30k VND and is much more delicious. Average space, average food deliciousness, and too high prices could be the reasons why no local or Vietnamese customers come to this restaurant. With such a high price, you can go to another restaurants in old street with beautiful spaces, professional chefs and much better taste.

Served by the attentive waitress Hana. I ordered the spring rolls in three ways, a seasonal vegetable dish, and beef fried rice. To start, the spring rolls in three ways were an excellent selection, featuring traditional fried Vietnamese spring rolls, fresh summer rolls, and salad rolls. Each variety was executed perfectly - the fried rolls had a delicate wrapper with an abundance of filling, the fresh rolls were crisp and refreshing, and the salad rolls had a wonderful balance of sweet and sour flavors. The accompanying fish sauce dip complemented the spring rolls beautifully. The seasonal vegetable dish that followed included fresh cucumber, carrot, bean sprouts, and cilantro, lightly seasoned to allow the natural sweetness of the produce to shine. This course provided a light and rejuvenating counterpoint to the meal. Lastly, the beef fried rice was delicious, with tender and juicy beef seamlessly incorporated into the rice along with peppers, onions, and other flavorful elements. The generous portion size left me feeling fully satisfied. Overall, this Vietnamese dining experience was highly enjoyable. The balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and Hana's attentive service made this an exceptional choice for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

I had the pleasure of dining at Met Vietnamese & Vegan Restaurant for my first meal in Hanoi, and it was an absolute delight! As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to find a restaurant that catered to my dietary preferences, and Met did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in, Ryan's warm welcome set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. His helpfulness and friendliness made me feel right at home in this charming establishment. I started with a pot of ginger and lemongrass tea, which was both refreshing and invigorating. Paired with a serving of red bean cake, it was the perfect way to begin my meal. For my main course, I opted for the vegan spring rolls served three ways. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and I was impressed by the creativity and freshness of the ingredients. The colorful presentation added to the overall dining experience. Overall, Met Vietnamese & Vegan Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully prepared and presented. I left feeling satisfied, nourished, and eager to return for another memorable meal. Thank you to Ryan and the team at Met for a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious and innovative vegan cuisine in Hanoi.

Saw this vietnamese restautant while wondering around the Old Quarters. The menu presentation is good, the food is fantastic. I ordered stew pork wif aubergines & tofu and it comes wif a seperate bowl of vermicelle. The vermicelle is refillable (free). Also ordered a coconut drink - a fresh young coconut. My waiter is Alex, a very polite young man, very attentive & obliging. He told me i can refill the vermicelle if it's not enough. I noticed another female waiter name Daisy whom i feel needs to be memtioned too. I noticed her explaining to the diners how to eat certain dishes like how to fill the rice paper wif ingredient and which sauce goes with what dishes. She was very patient explaining. Both these waiters are always with smiles on their faces. Highly recommended restaurant - good service, excellent food! Pleasant atmosphere and very clean.
